It's not as scary as you think to register for homeschoolig, especially in QLD!
Most plans pass straight away (I have a 100% success rate 😉) but in some cases you might get an email saying we need a bit more info + an outline of exactly what they need.
That's it!
Wild Ones Homeschool
Mama & renegade primary teacher turned homeschooler. Here to help you buck the system and take charge of your kids' education!
❌️ There is no one right way to homeschool ❌️
Not one right routine, not one right method, not even one right curriculum. Why? Because there are no two children or families that are the same!
Your homeschooling journey should reflect that.
It COULD look like:
🤙Bali street music and immersing yourself in other cultures (like we were in this video)
🤙Slow starts, late-night rabbit holes, or learning in costume.
🤙Following your kids' interests, no matter what they are
🤙Doing bookwork if that is what your child loves to do
It can, and should, reflect your child, your family, and your values. 💫
You don’t need to try and fit into a box.
You get to build one that fits YOU.
And if the registration process has made you doubt that...
I’m here to help you write a plan that’s as real and flexible as your actual life.
DM me “PLAN” and I’ll show you how clear + simple it can be.
So many parents are holding it all together on the outside…
..while quietly wondering if school is really the best place for their child.
If you’re feeling that nudge, ask yourself:
1️⃣ Is my child thriving in school right now? Or are they (and me) just surviving?
2️⃣ What do I truly value most in their childhood?
3️⃣ If fear wasn’t running the show, what would I choose?
And let me just say, I never hear anyone say "I wish I kept them in school longer" 😉
So tell me...
What's stopping you from homeschooling?
😱 First off, it's not a curriculum!
When you get started, it's easy to fall into the trap of buying all the things, all at once.
The all in one curriculums & the expensive resources BUT you don't need to! Trust me.
I have always liked to take the "less is more" approach and instead buy things as we 'need' them. Alot of the time you can find stuff around the house to be repurposed, too.
So with that in mind, here is what I would invest in if I was just starting 👇
🃏 Board games (math, strategy, cooperation)
🎨 Art & craft supplies (obviously 😌)
🔢 Counters, playing cards, whiteboards
📚 Memberships to zoos, art galleries, and museums
🌿 Tickets to experiences that my child was interested in (outdoor workshops, theatre shows, art classes, play spaces)
Now all of these are of course optional and we have acquired over a period of time, as the interest arises. You can buy nothing and your child will still be learning.
But just wanted to share the alternative to curriculums and bookworks that we use and love in our homeschooling days.
Share this with anyone new to homeschooling, before they spend loads on unnecessary stuff 🙊
