Mater enrolled nurse Bec Finegan is celebrating her first International Nurses Day this year!
Having graduated as an enrolled nurses in January, the mother-of-three now works in the orthopaedics unit at Mater Private Hospital Brisbane.
She says healthcare runs in the family.
"My sister is a nurse, and my cousin is a paramedic so helping people runs in the family. I'm eager to give back to others."

After decades in animal health and government regulation, Matthew Pigram made the leap into human healthcare and found his purpose. 💚
“I wanted to find something that fulfilled me as a person. I’ve got family who work in healthcare, and I thought, 'why not human health?" he said.
"We’re all animals, I suppose you could say.”
After completing his Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance, Matthew says supporting rehabilitation patients during his placement was the highlight of his studies.
"I was dealing with people that are sick, and they are grateful for the help and the intervention that the hospital is providing," he said.
"Getting to support that is incredibly satisfying." 😍
