I have started preparing in anticipation for the July OSCE! First job is to accrue essential stationary - anyone else? 😂
Slightly old news now, but details of the format for the July Multi-Site OSCE have now been released with confirmation that, as per the AV OSCE, there will be 6 20 minute stations. That is 5 minutes reading followed by 15minutes of action.
I have mixed feelings about this - to my mind, fewer stations mean the exam is based on a far less broad range of topics which I would think would be favourable but on the other hand, the longer time for each scenario is perhaps more realistic.
Would be interested to hear what others think - and also if you have share my stationary purchasing compulsion in response to exam anxiety?! 👇🏼

Despite the uncertainty around the planned Multi Site OSCE I have decided to start preparing for the July sitting - in the full knowledge that I may not get a spot.
For me this mainly means very early mornings to study before my children require my attention. Also taking every spare moment at work. I planned to do the psych scene course but it falls on a weekend that I am not available 😞... considering alternative options.
I did extensively prepare at the beginning of last year for the cancelled April 2020 OSCE and then later in the year for the Essay exam in October 2020. Hoping I can remember some of this content! I have also previously done the MRCPsyc CASC but feel this exam is really quite different - not sure if the resources I used for this exam will hit the spot for the RANZCP version.
Who else is with me? How are you coping with the uncertainty? Does any one have any tips for the OSCE? Comment below 👇🏼

“Catatonia, a psychomo- tor syndrome, reminds us that the mind engages with the world through the body.”
This is an interesting (and short) read!

Enjoyed watching this from Professor Femi Oyebode on phenomenology and why it’s important to pay attention to the broad subjective experience - what a privilege to hear from the man himself!

I have been hanging out for this news for a while now... College looks to deliver multi site OSCEs in July and October this year with the intention on getting a higher number of candidates through. Expressions of interest are requested so that they can identify the number of places wanted - follow the link on the email from RANZCP to do so. I have done mine... Hope to sit in July, guess it is time to start revising, who is with me?!

This is an interesting take on mind-body dualism, useful for the CEQ... Also interesting in any case!

I am thinking of everyone sitting the MCQ tomorrow! Hope it goes well!
Please do be in touch with any questions or themes you can remember from the exam so I can share with others. You can comment here, or direct on the website (where comments can be anonymous), or email me!
If you have come across any past remembered questions in your revision I would also love to see them so I can pass them on - something I have struggled to find so far!
Good luck!
