What a great, engaging morning we had at the Marshall Road State School Under 8's Day! The children explored the school grounds in two groups, provided with the opportunity to make their own choices of which activities they wanted to participate in. From obstacle courses to astronaut helmet making and crafts, the children were speaking of how today was “the best day ever” all the way back to kindy! 's

Over the weekend, a group of our dedicated educators participated in a Montessori Literacy Professional Development Program, expanding their knowledge and strengthening their teaching practices to enhance learning opportunities for children.

The Child Safe Organisations system is about child safeguarding – the actions people and organisations take to protect children from all kinds of harm.
The system comprises two elements that work together to keep children safe:
• Child Safe Standards to be met by all organisations providing services or spaces specifically for children
• a Reportable Conduct Scheme for certain organisations.
Here at Perfect Beginnings Montessori Children's House, we have conducted full reviews of policies and procedures to align with the Child Safe Standards and to meet the requirements of a Child Safe Organisation. This includes using the tools by the Queensland Family & Child Commission such as the Guidelines and the Self-Reflection Tool.

There has been a lot of talk in the news recently about some childcare centres not meeting the National Quality Standards. The media has published a complete list of these centres. We want to assure everyone that there are many wonderful centres out there. Our team is very proud to have received a rating of exceeding the standards in 2025.

Caring for the environment is a large part of the Montessori philosophy and often includes gardening, window washing, table wiping, sweeping and mopping as well as tending to the sandpit. These practices encourage children to see themselves as responsible keepers of the earth, fostering a mindful and eco-conscious mindset.
