The Australian Institute of Company Directors has released a new resource: Not-for-profit director remuneration guide: Considerations for boards: https://bit.ly/4gl6qaL

The guide responds to a growing conversation across parts of the NFP sector, particularly among larger and more complex organisations navigating increasing governance, regulatory and operational demands.

Importantly, the guide does not advocate for director remuneration. Rather, it provides a structured, principles-based framework to support thoughtful, ethical and transparent decision-making.

The resource includes a five-step governance framework, legal and stakeholder considerations, and practical case studies from organisations that have considered the issue in different contexts.

Gender gains mask deeper diversity gaps | AICD 15/06/2026

The latest Board Diversity Index, developed by Watermark Search International in collaboration with the Australian Institute of Company Directors and Deloitte, shows the ASX 300 is close to eliminating all-male boards.

While this reflects progress on gender, representation across other dimensions of diversity remains low.

The AICD emphasises that diverse perspectives are fundamental to board effectiveness and decision making.

AI is transforming the way organisations operate, but what if it’s also changing the way we think?

As boards race to unlock the benefits of AI, many governance discussions focus on risk, ethics and compliance. But there’s another challenge directors need to consider: the impact AI may be having on human judgement itself.

In the latest episode of the Director Download podcast, NeuroLeadership Institute co-founder and CEO Dr David Rock explores the neuroscience behind AI adoption and why boards need to look beyond the technology.

We discuss:

đź”˝ The cognitive risks of over-reliance on AI

đź”˝ Why AI fluency is becoming a board-level capability

đź”˝ How organisations are getting AI implementation wrong

đź”˝ What directors can do to preserve critical thinking and decision-making in an AI-enabled world

If you're a director, board member, or senior executive navigating rapid technological change, this conversation offers practical insights you won't want to miss.

Measuring what matters: Why the 2026 Workplace RAP Barometer is a critical tool for organisations - AICD 07/06/2026

How do Reconciliation Action Plans (RAPs) shape workplace culture and attitudes towards reconciliation?

Reconciliation Australia's latest Workplace RAP Barometer highlights the impact RAPs are having across Australian organisations — strengthening understanding of First Nations histories and cultures, fostering meaningful relationships, and driving greater engagement with reconciliation.

Employees in RAP organisations consistently report stronger support for reconciliation and a deeper awareness of the issues that matter.

As organisations continue their reconciliation journeys, measuring progress is essential to understanding what’s working and where further action is needed.

Organisations with a RAP can now express interest in participating in the 2026 Workplace RAP Barometer, with expressions of interest closing on 30 June.

Organisational culture is recognised as a core driver of performance, resilience and trust, yet it remains one of the hardest areas for boards to oversee effectively.

The Australian Institute of Company Directors' Governing Culture in a Complex World report introduces five principles across leadership, strategy, risk, governance and accountability to support boards in governing culture in a complex and rapidly changing world.

Rather than prescribing a single model, the guide provides a principles-based framework, grounded in director experience and contemporary governance practice.
