Please be advised that there will an official opening of a borehole drilled by Former Numwa Secondary School students.
The event will be held on 23 March 2024 at the school.
The event will also coincide with a farewll party for our beloved Mother Mrs Matsika who is now going into retirement. All former students are invited!! We are also appealing for donations in cash and kind towards the success of this event. I am sorry I have been kinda busy and did not have time to respond to some issues raised here yesterday in connection with the two WhatsApp groups that we have namely Numwa Veterans and Numwa Old Students Club.
One issue raised concerned the merging of the two groups into one. Let me hasten to say this is a noble idea as we will all be a united family which came from our old school. However there is a danger that upon the formation of each group, there must have been a purpose which drove the pioneers to form each group and there must also be a constitution which outlines the purposes, guides members and provides a framework of how the group will be operating etc.
Having said that I therefore think that if the groups are to be merged we all stand guided by the respective constitutions of the two groups.

On a legal point of view, the groups are NGOs and the law in Zim states that all NGOs must be registered. This enables us to actually render the services or assistance that we need to offer to our old school without jeopardizing the carriers of the staff involved. Coz we will be, in other words, donating to a government institution and the government does not accept any donation from NGOs unless verifications into its authenticity have been carried out. I am sure we have members in this group who are in the Police Service and can correct me if I am wrong.

I therefore push a motion that we deliberate on the issue and come up with a resolution.

We regret to announce the passing on of Christopher Chibanda, a former Numwa Secondary School student during the early to mid 90s. He passed on this date at ZRP Support Unit after a short illness. May his soul rest in peace. We say *GO WELL MWANA WENUMWA*
