Construction of two classroom blocks at Katakura Secondary School which started in late Nov 2020 are now complete.The council is focused to fulfil Vision 2030 by ensuring that children in the district have access to quality education. This project was funded by Devolution funds and World Vision. The community also contributed immensily with all locally available resources and labour. Whilst the district has received above average rainfalls and has a good crop, the same can not be said for wards from Kasika to Mukosa as most of the crop is a write off. Rains have eluded these wards thereby making our communities very food insecure for the 2020-2021 agricultural seasson.

Today the local authority engaged the local leadership to find a solution to the scourge of makorokoza who have destroyed Gwangwava Secondary school ground.The entire leadership bemoned the destruction of their children and grandchildrens heritage.It was noted that this was being caused by known local people in ward 14 &13 who then sell to some local unregistered buyers. Serious steps have been agreed to solve this environmental men made disaster.

16 boreholes drilled and certified as meeting standards. The following are the names of the boreholes and location.

Mukosa Secondary School block completed in record time. It was started in March and by September it was through despite the prolonged COVID-19 lockdown period. This school will solve challenges like early child marriages which had become an impediment to the advancement of the girl child in the ward. The new secondary school will also cover the Nyabawa community. The council is very much keen to see a rapid improvement in the education sector so that it can compete with other districts in the country. In addition a borehole was drilled at the school to facilitate availability of water to teachers and learners.
