🚀 For the culture. For the kids. For the quantum future.

This October, we’re bringing children, youth, parents, and teachers together in Zimbabwe’s Eastern Highlands to explore AI, robotics, quantum tech, and media literacy — not in classrooms, but through play, storytelling, and hands-on creativity.

We don’t want cost to be the reason a child or teacher misses this. That’s why we’ve launched the Scholarship & Supporter Pass Fund.

Your support = their opportunity.

EmpowerZim Women Project

Bridging the Digital Divide for Women in Zimbabwe.

The EmpowerZim Women Project is a groundbreaking initiative by the Internet Society Zimbabwe Chapter, aimed at enhancing digital literacy and internet access for women across Zimbabwe. The project is designed to address the barriers that prevent women, particularly in underserved communities, from fully participating in the digital economy and benefiting from online opportunities.

Why EmpowerZim?

In Zimbabwe, many women face challenges such as:
✔ Limited digital skills preventing them from leveraging online opportunities.
✔ Restricted internet access due to high costs and infrastructure gaps.
✔ Socio-cultural barriers that discourage women from exploring technology-driven careers.

EmpowerZim Women is tackling these issues by providing hands-on digital skills training, advocating for better internet access policies, and creating opportunities for women to thrive in the digital space.

Our Goals
• Equip women with essential digital skills for entrepreneurship, employment, and education.
• Promote gender-inclusive internet policies to improve access and affordability.
• Support women-led initiatives in tech and innovation.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to create sustainable digital empowerment programs.

Our Reach

The project spans five provinces:
✅ Matebeleland North
✅ Mashonaland Central
✅ Mashonaland West
✅ Masvingo
✅ Manicaland

Through targeted training workshops, mentorship programs, and partnerships, we are building a more inclusive digital future for Zimbabwean women.

Partners:
⭐ Google Women Techmakers – Designed a custom app for data collection.
⭐ AfriDigital - Research, data analysis and report generation
⭐ ZWRCN (Zimbabwe Women’s Resource Centre and Network) – Advocating for digital inclusion policies.
⭐ Girls in Tech – Facilitating workshops and mentorship sessions.

We have a unique opportunity to shape the future by empowering the ones who are still in school today.

At the end of the day, all we really want is what’s best for our children. We want them to grow up confident in who they are, their skills and their potential. We want them to find joy and meaning in the world as well as have the skills to deal with the problems and challenges they will eventually face.

But with the way the world is changing, how do we prepare them for a future we’re struggling to understand ourselves?! Especially in the Zimbabwean and African context. That’s where comes in; a carefully curated program designed to educate, empower and support both young people, their parents/guardians and the communities they live by learning through play.

From insightful conversations about decoding language and social behaviour in a local context, to connecting you to scholarships and opportunities to unlock your child’s full potential, the program is your plug for all things progressive!

Curated by a passionate team of educators, researchers, tech professionals, creatives and students, is designed by Africans for young Africans to stimulate and activate their capacity to dream, think, build and create.
