Manicaland artists to export artefacts to Denmark 21/09/2024

Let our SoMe silence not fool you!
We are still very much active🙏🏽

On 16 September 2024, we were thrilled to connect African Touch, a Copenhagen-based shop selling African-made accessories and décor, with the Connecting Women in Business (Co-WIB) network in Mutare, Zimbabwe🙏🏽.
Amazing pieces were purchased and will soon be available in store here in Copenhagen🎉!

Co-WIB is a platform linking women entrepreneurs in Zimbabwe, South Africa, and the Nordics, with a focus on design and agribusiness. It promotes learning, knowledge exchange, and sustainable collaborations🌱. It was launched in March 2023 and has since hosted a series of workshops, webinars, and events in South Africa, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. The program is supported by Afrika Consultancy, ZimNordic Capital Connect, and the NGO All4Children, under which it officially operates.

The Co-WIB network is growing, and we’re calling on more Nordic businesses, investors, and female entrepreneurs to partner with or support women in business from our focus markets—South Africa and Zimbabwe. At Co-WIB, we believe: “Alone you can go fast, but together you can go far. So please Join us to create even more impact🚀. Feel free to DM us to explore how you can join or assist.

Manicaland artists to export artefacts to Denmark Hot News From The East

Afrika i Lejre 2022 | Under Kastanjen 06/09/2022

Dear Friends of All4Children,

A bit of wonderful News after a very long time:

In 2013 we held a project called "By Women Of Africa (WOA)." A project promoting female artists from Zimbabwe.

Four fantastic women participated and we had a series of events with them around Copenhagen for 1 week. Among the women was the artist Mercy Moyo, whose work portrays contemporary Southern African life in her Zimbabwean traditional painting style. Since then, she has been invited to different countries, running workshops, displaying and selling her amazing pieces.

Now she is back in Denmark again. You can meet her in Lejre where she is running workshops 9 - 14 September 2022. Please see the full program here.

Good day, month and “New Year”! Yes
we have been on a “ break” from activities for a while. Cyclone Idai which has also ravaged homes and crops and left many dead in the Eastern Highlands of Zimbabwe where we focus our activities has woken our spirit to continue assisting.

We are now gearing for fresh activities and to be part of assisting those affected by the Cyclone.

Our thoughts go to those who have lost family & friends and been injured & displaced.

If you want to join us in contributing, please email us on [email protected]

AROUND 5000 STUDENTS IN RURAL ZIMBABWE NOW WITH DESKS AND CHAIRS!

Since 2011, we have been sending diverse school commodities to rural areas in Zimbabwe, with focus on the Eastern Highlands. Last week, on 21 June 2018, our 7th container with desks and chairs was delivered to Mutasa South District.

We are delighted that a total of around 5000 school children from marginalised communities in Manicaland & Masvingo are now with chairs and desks!

Schooling in most parts of Zimbabwe up until the early 2000's was as good as schooling in Denmark for instance, particularly with regard to the fact that there was not much difference between Private Schools and Government Schools, and most rural schools also had the basics in place. Unfortunately, the economic challenges faced in the recent years have crippled the education sector and rural schools are suffering the most. The manufacturing sector has also been compromised, making it necessary to source used school furniture in good condition for dilapidated schools ...

Thank you to the Danish Government’s “ Genbrug Til Syd” program for making it possible to make a difference in these marginalized communities’ children’s lives!

Zimbabwe is currently going through many seemingly positive changes, and I personally hope for a setup where the local manufacturing sector is revamped so that things like school furniture are produced locally again, subsequently creating the much needed employment. Until then, we continue to assist where we can with help from our donors

It dosen’t take much to in someone’s life.

Kind regards,
Florence Charamba Christensen,
