[09/23/17]   Today we are talking on health and medical side. A throat infection (or sore throat) can make it difficult for you to swallow due to swelling and tenderness. In some cases, tonsillitis (inflammation of the tonsils) as well as ear and neck pain also develop. Throat infections can be caused by either a virus or bacteria – the first are most common and usually pass on their own; bacterial sore throats are more serious and need medical attention. To ease a sore throat, try taking over-the-counter medication. You can also use natural remedies.
✍ Put one to two teaspoons of sea salt in a glass of warm water. Put the salt water in your mouth and tilt your head back so you can gargle it.Repeat this procedure twice a day.
✍ Mix equal parts of pure honey and fresh lemon juice in a cup. Warm the mixture over the stove in the microwave and drink it to help soothe your throat. You can also add honey and lemon juice to herbal tea and drink it that way.
✍ Boil ½ cup water and stir in 1 teaspoon ground sage and 1 teaspoon ground echinacea. Let the tea steep for 30 minutes, pour it through a strainer, and drink. If you do not like the taste of the tea, you can add honey or lemon to it.
✍ Combine 1 cup boiling water with 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar. Let the tea cool and then drink. You can add honey to the tea if you prefer it sweet.
✍ Look for throat lozenges in the medicine aisle at the grocery store or the drugstore.Take one lozenge and suck on it like a candy until it dissolves in your mouth. Do not swallow it whole. Never take more than two lozenges at a time.
✍ Try over-the-counter sore throat medication.
✍ Take painkillers ( medication) to reduce fever and pain.
✍ Keep your sore throat lubricated by drinking lots of water throughout the day. Prevent dehydration by sipping water. Have at least eight to ten glasses of water a day.You can add slices of lemon, lime, or cucumber to the water to give it some natural flavor
✍ Rest to allow your body to fight the infection. Avoid

[09/18/17]   1- WHAT IS BIOMETRICS ?

Biometrics refers to the identification of humans by their unique characteristics or traits as a form of identification and access control. These include finger prints, photo, signature, etc

The main purpose of using biometrics in the voter registration process is to prevent, duplication, multiple registration or identity theft. It also improves the accuracy of the voters roll.

A BVR kit is the computerised unit that captures the voter's data. It comprises of a computer (laptop) fingerprint scanner and a camera.

The BVR kit captures the personal identification information of a voter such as name surname, national identification number, gender, address and combines with the unique biometric features of the fingerprints and photograph.

[08/24/17]   *Rape Happens Even Among Friends*

We trust people (friends, family members and community acquaintances) in our lives. The truth is that we are more likely to be sexually assaulted by someone we know: a friend, a relative, an employer, a date or someone we have recently met, than by a stranger. Acquaintance rape occurs when someone you know uses physical strength, emotional bargaining, bullying, threats, blackmail, alcohol, drugs or mind games to force you to have sex.

If you do not consent freely, and someone has sexual contact with you anyway, it is a crime. There are many different types of acquaintance rape. Date rape is one of the most confusing kind. Some men believe that spending money on women creates situations in which their date owes them sex. Some men also believe that women play hard to get and say "no" but really mean "yes," and that women will be afraid to tell anyone what happened. Because some men believe that sex is their right, many women are raped by the men they are dating.

It is not simply a lack of communication or a result of lack of control. Rape is an act of violence and of power, which is often planned. Sexual assault is NEVER the victim's fault. It is the responsibility of the person who committed the act of violence.

[08/21/17]   We've started a new week. The importance of warm water in the morning when we wake up can't be understated. Let food be thy medicine and medicine by thy food. If you don't eat your food as medicine then you'll eat your medicine as food. The addition of lemon or garlic or ginger or honey or charcoal or cinnamon in the warm water acts as a great detoxifier as our bodies' immune system is boosted leans towards alkalinity. The food you eat can either be the safest and most powerful form of medicine or the slowest form of poison. Those who think they have no time for bodily exercise will sooner or later have to find time for illness. Let's eat more of grains fruits vegetables seeds nuts drink enough water. Use plant foods as the foundation of your meals for this is the basis of healthy eating. Every diseases has certain plant foods it fears. Substitute sugar with honey. A recipe has no soul. You as the cook, must brink soul to the recipe. Cookery is not chemistry. It is an art. It requires instinct and taste rather than exact measurements. Let's not dig our graves with what's in our plates. The immune system is the major concern. The fortified the immune system the less effective the viruses to overpower it. Eat more of breakfast and lunch and less or no supper at all. No eating in between meals, only drink water. Kitchens must be pharmacies and not graveyards. We are living in a world today where lemonade is made from artificial flavours and furniture polish is made from real lemons. Let us therefore remember this week that simple foods connect with your body's needs in complex ways. Food is fuel: eat to live (don't live to eat)!

[06/04/17]   *Thought of the day*

Life is a bank account in God's hands, no body knows the balance of the remaining days, keep depositing with forgiveness, prayer and obedience.

*Good morning*

[05/06/17]   . 1. A guy met one of his school mates several years after school and he could not believe his eyes; his friend was driving one of the latest sleek Mercedes Benz cars. He went home feeling awful and very disappointed in himself. He thought he was a failure. What he didn't know was that his friend was a driver and had been sent on errand with his boss's car!

2. Rosemary nagged her husband always for not being romantic. She accused him for not getting down to open the car door for her as her friend Jane's husband did when he dropped her off at work. What Rosemary didn't know was that Jane's husband's car had a faulty door that could only be opened from the outside!

3. Sampson's wife went to visit one of her long time friends and was very troubled for seeing the 3 lovely kids of her friend playing around. Her problem was that she had only one child and have been struggling to conceive for the past five years. What she didn't know was that one of those kids who was the biological child of her friend had sickle cell and had just a year to live; the other two are adopted!

4. Life does not have a universal measuring tool; so create yours and use it.
Looking at people and comparing yourself with them will not make you *better but *bitter*. If you know the sort of load the chameleon carries, you would'nt ask why it takes those gentle strides. So, enjoy what you have and be grateful to God for it.

Not all that glitters are gold, live and be happy with what you have, everyone is going through one thing or the other, God Bless you.

Gud mrng

[04/05/17]   I watched a local football match in a school playing ground. As I sat down, I asked one of the boys what the score was.

With a smile, he replied; "They are leading us 3-0"!
And I said, REALLY!!
I told him you don't look discouraged.

"Discouraged?" the boy asked with a puzzled look ...

Why should I be discouraged when the referee has not blown the final whistle?

I have confidence in the team and the managers; We shall definitely overcome!

Truly, the match finally ended 5-4 in favor of the boy's team!

He waved at me gently, with a beautiful smile as he left. I was amazed, mouth wide open; Such confidence; Such beautiful faith; Such a small boy?

As I got back home that night, his question kept coming back to me:
"Why should I be discouraged when the referee has not blown the final whistle?"

Life is like a game.
Why should you be discouraged when The Almighty God is your Manager? Why should you be discouraged, whilst there's still life? Why should you be discouraged when your final whistle has not sounded? The truth is that many people blow the final whistle themselves;

But as long as there is life, nothing is impossible and it is never too late for you.

Half time is not full time and HIS calendar for your life is not man's calendar.

Don't blow the final whistle yourself.

With God all things are still possible!
