Hugh’s journey from PPL to CPL continues through cross-country flying and hour building across Zimbabwe. From Kariba and Victoria Falls to Bulawayo, Masvingo, Malilangwe and beyond, each flight has helped him build confidence, consolidate what he has learnt and gain experience in different flying environments.

Starting flight training can feel like a lot in the beginning, and Hugh’s PPL journey was no different.
But as he quickly learnt, pilot training happens in stages. Each lesson builds on the last, and over time, the things
that once felt big or difficult become more manageable.

For Hugh, the flying was the exciting part, while the exams brought their own challenges. But every part of the process has helped shape his confidence, discipline, and progress as a pilot.

He is now working towards his CPL, with approximately 95 flight hours and training experience on the C172 and C182.
This is Hugh’s journey from PPL to CPL — and we’ll be following his progress along the way.
