On Friday 07 March 2025, Centre for Gender and Community Development in Zimbabwe and Ray Of Hope Academy conducted a clean up exercise at Bani Shopping Center along Great Zimbabwe Road.
Various stakeholders joined the exercise and these included:
- EMA (Environmental Management Agency)
- RDC (Rural District Council)
- Registrar's office
- Police
- Health workers
- Traditional leaders.

Yesterday, Centre for Gender and Community Development in Zimbabwe staff undertook a soil cover demo at Ray of Hope Academy to capacitate teachers with the knowledge and skills to inspire students to adopt environmentally conscious practices and promote ecosystem restoration fostering a culture of regeneration and environmental stewardship. Students will become environmental ambassadors extending their learning beyond the classroom and sharing their knowledge with their families and communities promoting a ripple effect of environmental awareness Holistic Land and Livestock Management

The term has ended and schools are now closed. We are glad that on closing day, we were able to give some prizes to our best performing students.

Six weeks after we opened as a private secondary college, we are pleased to announce that we now have a ZIMSEC Exam Centre Number 060111. This means that students will both learn and write exams right at their school. We built all the infrastructure required and bought the furniture required by regulators. The sky is the limit.

Last Saturday, February 03, 2024, we had our first elective Annual General Meeting (AGM) where parents elected our inaugural School Development Committee (SDC). The seven-member committee comprises the Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, Secretary, Vice Secretary, Treasurer and two ordinary commitee members. It was resolved that there will be no school fees increases this year.

Today we took our first ever batch of prefects for an induction lunch at Masvingo Sports Club. Many wise words amd teachings from respected educationist Ms. Shirley Makausi. Our prefects were taught values of leadership as underlined by aspects that include integrity, focus and confidence.

We took our children to a nearby chapel for a presentation on discipline by a respected pastor. This was to help prepare them for what promises to be a term of hard work and toil. Children should be taught to understand the discipline that God expects of them if they are to find it easy in the journey of learning.
