The first fall feast called Yom Teruah begins next week. Yom Teruah means, the Day of Blowing. This title is referring to the blowing of the shofar (ram’s horn), which is
likened to the sound of God’s voice calling to His people. There are three main ceremonial shofarim in biblical Judaism. When Abraham was ready to sacrifice Isaac on Mt. Moriah, God provided a ram in the thicket for the offering instead. Jewish tradition states that the left horn of the ram known as the first trump is blown on the last spring festival of Shavuot, when in Exodus 19, the sound of this trumpet assembled God's people to enter a marriage covenant with Him on Mt Sinai. The right horn of the ram is blown as part of Yom Teruah and is called the last trump. The "final" shofar is blown on the 2nd fall feast of Yom Kippur and is known as the great trump.
During the feast of Yom Teruah (Rosh haShannah) the shofar is blown in the synagogue 100 times. It is blown in a pattern of three different sounds blown three times each for a total of nine blasts and this is repeated eleven times, which makes the total 99 blasts. During the blowing of the shofar on Yom Teruah, there are three distinct sounds: The tekiah is a long, even, haunting sound of a voice calling out. The shevarim sound is said to be like a wailing, repentant cry in response. The teruah (the sound that this feast is named after, is said to be a short, crisp, repetitive sound like an alarm- clock). It is the teruah blasts that are the wake-up call. It takes an extremely skilled shofar blower to
blow the very last tekiah of the day because it is held for a very long time and has a very drawing, supernatural sound. This last blast, or 100th blowing of this day is known in Judaism as, the last trump. For now, I will just say that I believe all three trumps are either for summoning the Lord’s Bride or announcing her coming with her Bridegroom! Hopefully that will hold your curiosity to read my book, Watching and Waiting, where I unfold this in detail!
Now that we have defined this last trump being the final blast of the shofar on Yom Teruah (Feast of Trumpets), let’s read a few scriptures where it is mentioned.
1Corinthians 15:51 says,
“Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed— in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will
sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.”
Now look at 1 Thessalonians 4:16,17:
“For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first.
Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus, we shall always be with the Lord.
Therefore comfort one another with these words.”
For now, I will leave you with this list of names traditionally associated with the day of Yom Teruah and the release of events that are associated with the “last trump”.
• The Day of the Resurrection from the Dead
• The Day of Judgement
• The Day that books are opened and Doors are open
• The Day of Hiddenness
• The Day that “no man knows the day or hour”
• The Day of the Coronation of the King
• The Day of Jacob’s Trouble
• The Day of the Wedding of the Messiah
This Day is alluded to throughout the entire Bible but is cloaked in mystery, using descriptive words that seem to be a wakeup call to all who are listening. Many people believe as I do, that this important day refers to a time in the future when the events of the second coming of Jesus will begin to unfold. It is also known as, “The Day of the Lord”, which I believe is not just one day but the beginning of days. Jewish scholars refer to it as a Day that releases a season of “Joy mixed with trembling”.
Let’s keep walking in teshuvah, thanking Him for this season of heart preparation and for the excitement of being on this glorious treasure hunt looking for Jesus in the biblical feasts! Christie Eisner

THE Bible says the moon will turn “blood red” before the Day of the Lord comes (Joel 2:31).
With this in mind, it is noteworthy that on September 7, a total lunar eclipse will be visible to 77% of the global population, making it one of the most watched blood moons ever.
What’s more, the particulars of the eclipse give it a prophetic overtone.
September’s blood moon:
• Occurs two weeks ahead of the Feast of Trumpets.
• Is visible from Israel, beginning just after sunset.
• Is the last harvest blood moon visible in Israel until 2032.
• Has a totality phase of one hour and 23 minutes, matching the Feast of Trumpets date, September 23.
• Reaches maximum totality at 9:11 Jerusalem time, evoking the US’s most shocking calamity, the 9/11 attacks.
• Has a total duration of five hours and five minutes in Israel (the number five signifies a period of grace).
• Ends five minutes before midnight, the hour at which the sleeping virgins are awakened by a shout: “the bridegroom is coming!” (Matt. 25).
Additionally, in view of the Trumpets date, 9/23, it is striking that the blood moon occurs exactly:
• 23 weeks into the biblical year.
• 23 months into the Gaza war. This is significant, as the war has given rise to an international call for “peace and security” expected to peak at the UN’s 80th General Assembly on September 23 (1 Thess. 5:2, 3).
• 923 months (plus three days) from the first Feast of Trumpets observed by modern Israel in 1948.
A final fascinating feature of the blood moon is that it occurs in the constellation Aquarius, the Water Bearer, which depicts the outpouring of the Holy Spirit that began the Church Age. This is significant because it was on the first day of the Church Age, Pentecost, that Peter stood up and quoted Joel’s prophecy about a blood moon heralding the end of the age.
“When the day of Pentecost came, Peter stood up and said, ‘This is what was spoken by the prophet Joel: I will pour out my Spirit in those [last] days …. The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord’” (Acts 2).
Adding to the Church-Age theme, the September blood moon:
• Is visible from the birthplace of the Church, Jerusalem.
• Occurs on a Sunday, the day of the Church’s birth.
• Occurs exactly three months after Pentecost, which happened to see another Church-Age sign in Aquarius: an asteroid named Jubilatrix (Jubilee) passed through the end of the water stream that symbolizes the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, evoking the end of the age.
SUMMARY AND CONCLUSION
The total lunar eclipse on September 7:
• Is viewable to 77% of people.
• Heralds the Feast of Trumpets.
• Is visible in Israel just after sunset.
• Is the last harvest blood moon in Israel until 2032.
• Has a totality phase of one hour and 23 minutes.
• Reaches maximum totality at 9:11.
• Has a total duration of five hours and five minutes.
• Ends five minutes before midnight.
• Occurs 23 weeks into the biblical year.
• Occurs 23 months into the Gaza war.
• Occurs 923 months from modern Israel’s first Feast of Trumpets.
• Occurs three months after Pentecost, in the constellation associated with the Church Age.
Scripture says the heavens “speak” to us:
“The heavens declare the glory of God … Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge” (Ps. 19).
September’s blood moon seems to be saying, “The Day of the Lord is at hand!”

IMPORTANT MESSAGE: No one knows the day or hour of Jesus’ return (Matt. 24:36). However, a convergence of biblical signs and timelines suggests that it is near. To escape the judgment reserved for a God-rejecting world, one must know Jesus as Lord and Savior. If you have not yet done so, call on His name and believe that He is the Son of God who died for your sins and was raised from the dead, and you will be saved (Rom. 10:13).
