NILD Educational Therapy® builds efficient learning processes for bright children who are struggling in school. NILD - "helping those who learn differently"

NILD therapists see students on a one-on-one basis, providing intensive and interactive teaching on, “how to think” rather than “what to think”. The focus of NILD educational therapy is to develop clear, efficient thinking and build self-confident, independent learners. Our techniques help re-train the brain and stimulate areas of weakness in processing, memory, attention, language and maths. NILD

For Deborah Zimmerman, educational therapy was never about helping students memorize steps or give the “right” answer.

She believed students needed the opportunity to think. To reason. To wrestle with ideas and make meaningful connections for themselves.

“We must teach our students to think.”

That belief still shapes NILD Educational Therapy® today—and the way educational therapists encourage students to grow in confidence, independence, and understanding.

NILD Zimbabwe Level 1 Training 2026

Learning is about better thinking? If language directs thinking, we need our students to have language skills that enable them to be better thinkers…..

NILD Educational Therapists guide students through challenging tasks with thoughtful questions and structured activities that strengthen the thinking processes behind reading, writing, and math.

Because the goal isn’t just getting the answer.
It’s helping students become stronger thinkers.

NILD educational therapy is endorsed by International Dyslexia Association. Our techniques are evidence-based, systematic, and aligned with current literacy science.
