HOW TO BOOK FOR YOUR IELTS GENERAL TEST

What you need to book:

Make sure you have a form of valid ID (passport or national ID card) at hand, as you will need to upload a clear photocopy of it when you book your test.

Download and read our Information for Candidates, which contains important information about the test format, the question types and the test results.

Pay for your test.

After you have booked your test, you will receive emails confirming:

Start time of your test and the venue address and Speaking Test date

IELTS is accepted as evidence of English language proficiency for study, work and migration in Australia, Ireland, USA, Canada, New Zealand and the UK.

Australia

IELTS is accepted by the department of Home Affairs for many visa categories. It is also a requirement for some Australian professional organisations and accrediting bodies.

Their minimum IELTS score fis 6.

Canada, USA

For Canadian immigration, contact your prosepctive employer for the minimum score which differ depending on your circumstances.

New Zealand

Immigration New Zealand asks for IELTS for many visas including those within the skilled migrant, investor and entrepreneur, residence from work and parent categories.

Their minimum IELTS score is 6.5.

UK, Ireland etc

Evidence of English language ability is a requirement for those applying to settle permanently in the UK.

IELTS minimum score requirements for migration vary from 4 to 7.
