In 2008, and Phil Mlanda at University of Zimbabwe believed young Africans didn’t need permission to lead. They just needed a platform. That vision became paNhari, reach the peak.

Seventeen years later, we’ve worked with thousands of young people across the continent. Climate action. Responsible AI. Agrifood innovation. Leadership that transforms communities. The work keeps growing because the mission matters.

And none of it happens without the people behind it.

We're honored to introduce Ronnie Murungu as paNhari's Board Chair.

Ronnie brings decades of experience driving transformative change across Africa and the Middle East, having held senior leadership roles with ActionAid, American Refugee Committee, Caritas, ForAfrica, International Youth Foundation, Progressio, and WaterAid. His work has consistently championed human-centered approaches to development, youth empowerment, locally-led solutions, and trust-based grantmaking.

As a Global Council Member of the World Agriculture Forum, Ronnie brings strategic perspective on food sovereignty and agricultural transformation that aligns perfectly with paNhari's work. Over 15 years, we've trained 5,000+ young people across four pathways: agrifood futures, responsible AI, climate solutions, and transformative leadership, with 83% going on to lead ventures or drive community change.

At a pivotal moment as paNhari scales programs, diversifies revenue, and strengthens governance for long-term sustainability, Ronnie's leadership will ensure our work remains grounded in Ubuntu, locally-led development, and systems thinking.

Diana brings over 15 years of experience leading digital transformation across Africa, from shaping mHealth initiatives at GSMA to advancing country engagement at the Digital Impact Alliance. Her work sits at the intersection of government systems, cross-sector partnerships, and scalable program design.

At paNhari, we work across four pathways: agrifood innovation, responsible AI and digital transformation, climate solutions, and transformative leadership. As we deepen partnerships with ministries and embed our programs within public education and youth-employment systems, Diana's expertise in government engagement and digital strategy will be invaluable in helping us achieve scale and sustainable impact across the continent.
