Jeunesses Musicales International (JMI) runs global youth music initiatives including Ethno, Music Crossroads, and the World Youth Choir. These projects connect young artists across borders through cultural exchanges, workshops, and live performances.

Ethno is Jeunesses Musicales International's (JMI) flagship global program for folk, world, and traditional music. Founded in 1990 in Sweden, it operates in over 40 countries for young musicians and dancers aged 13 to 30.

Core Mission and Approach Peer-to-Peer Learning:
Participants teach each other traditional tunes from their respective cultures by ear rather than relying on sheet music.Global Network: Active in 40+ countries worldwide, featuring local camps such as Ethno Zimbabwe, Ethno USA, and Ethno Belgium.

Activities: Includes annual international music camps, workshops, masterclasses, and touring initiatives like Ethno On The Road.

Ethno Zim is hosting it's 3rd Edition from the 18th to the 22nd of August 2026 in Harare, (Prince Edward).
Deadline for registrations is the 31st of July 2026.

As we conclude the Gender Inclusion Strategy workshop at Music Crossroads Academy Zimbabwe under the Erasmus+ Capacity Building project, AMPLIFY, we leave with a shared vision and practical steps toward 50% gender inclusion in our programs.

The discussions may be over, but the work continues. Together, we’re creating a stronger, more inclusive future for music education.

That’s what today’s Gender Inclusion Strategy workshop was about at Music Crossroads Academy Zimbabwe.

Under an Erasmus+ Capacity Building project,*AMPLIFY*, we’re laying the groundwork for an action plan to reach *50% gender inclusion* in our programs.

Because when we include everyone, our music and our community gets stronger.
