From Concert Hall to Classroom...and back again

MusicMinds came about from Miss Thembani's desire to share her love of music with young children.

Miss Thembani is a seasoned and versatile Zimbabwean musician. Born and bred in Zimbabwe, she has been playing the viola and violin since 1996. After a decade of working in corporate while performing with orchestras on the side, Miss Thembani had the opportunity to go back to working full time in her passion - Music. She began teaching music full time in 2016 at Peterhouse and Arundel (two top private schools in Harare). She currently runs her private studio - MusicMinds in Mount Pleasant, Harare.

Over the last 22 years, she has performed solo and with ensembles in genres spanning across classical to jazz to hip hop. She has performed at the Harare International Festival of the Arts, Bulawayo Arts Festival in Zimbabwe and further afield in South Africa with MIAGI. She has accompanied and collaborated with many artists on various projects. Notably, the Soweto String Quartet, Oliver Mtukudzi, Louis Mhlanga and Simpiwe Dana.
