For years, many young Zimbabweans have invested their time and money in learning German. Now DDS wants to help turn that qualification into a real career pathway in Germany.

As an official Supporting Member of DEHOGA Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, DDS is leveraging its membership to identify hospitality opportunities with DEHOGA member companies in the German state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

We are now selecting a PIONEER GROUP OF ONLY 20 STUDENTS at our DDS Harare Sandringham Campus.

This is open to ALL German-language learners in Zimbabwe — whether you studied at DDS, Goethe or another institution.

If you have full B1, or preferably full B2 ÖSD/Goethe, this is an opportunity you should seriously consider.

Our objective is to prepare candidates for potential Ausbildung (apprenticeship) and employment opportunities in the hospitality industry with DEHOGA member companies in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

Already completed the DDS Fine Dining course? If you also hold full B1/B2 ÖSD or Goethe, you will be prioritised for placement.

🇿🇼✈️🌍🚢 ANOTHER DDS JOURNEY TAKES TO THE WORLD!

Congratulations to ITAI GONGERA, who is beginning an exciting new chapter in the international cruise ship industry! 🚢🌍🇩🇪

For Itai, learning German was not simply about passing an examination. It became a passport to a completely new world of international career opportunities.

The cruise ship industry brings together people, cultures and languages from across the globe. Working onboard gives young professionals the opportunity to earn internationally, gain valuable hospitality experience, travel to different countries and build a career within one of the world’s most exciting industries.

And today, we proudly celebrate Itai as he takes that next step. 🙌🏾

But Itai’s story is also part of a much bigger story happening at Die Deutsche Schule (DDS).

MILLENNIAL ACADEMY JOINS THE GERMAN CLUB‼️

We are delighted to announce that Millennial Academy in Mount Pleasant, Harare 🇿🇼, will officially introduce the DDS German Club in Third Term 2026!

For young learners, studying German is not simply about adding another language to their school experience. It can be the beginning of a pathway towards education, training and career opportunities in Germany. 🇩🇪

Through learning German, students can begin preparing for opportunities such as:

🔹 🇩🇪 Tuition-free university education in Germany

🔹 🎓 Dual Study programmes — combining university-level academic study with practical professional training

🎥🇩🇪 GERMANY THROUGH MY CAMERA LENS – SEASON 2 BEGINS‼️

Karen began exactly where many of our current students are today—at Die Deutsche Schule Harare, studying German from A1 right through to B2.

Her dedication and commitment led her to achieve an extraordinary 93% in the internationally recognised B2 Hören examination—a DDS record that still stands today and one that may never be broken.

But that was only the beginning.

Karen became the very first A1 German teacher at Die Deutsche Schule Lusaka, where she helped hundreds of students begin their own German language journeys. Under her guidance, many students joined , including Leah Manda, who achieved an incredible 98% in the internationally recognised A1 examination.

After serving the DDS family with distinction, Karen was successfully placed by our Placements Department with our long-standing German partner HBS, where she is now completing an Electrical Engineering apprenticeship in Germany.
