Our boys and staff gathered to pay tribute - sharing special memories and lifting their voices in the war cry he loved.

Our bell rang three times for Mr Mbundire, marking the values on our bell tower that he lived out so meaningfully:

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mathew Mbundire, a deeply valued and longstanding member of the St John’s Educational Trust.

For 25 years, Mathew served the school with unwavering dedication and strength - as an educator, a coach, and above all, an exceptional human being. His steadfast commitment to the boys and his wholehearted devotion to St John’s Prep have left an indelible mark on our school.

Mathew’s integrity and loyalty touched countless lives. He will be remembered with deep gratitude and affection by colleagues, boys, past pupils, and the wider St John’s family.

We extend our heartfelt love, thoughts, and prayers to his family and friends during this time of great loss, as we honour and give thanks for a life so faithfully and meaningfully lived.
