Teaching, Learning and Academic Support Officer (Remote)
This is not solely an administrative role, and the person who thrives in it will know the difference.
The International Open University (IOU) is hiring a Teaching, Learning and Academic Support Officer to help run the Directorate of Teaching and Learning. It is a coordination role built for someone who understands academic access and quality, not just paperwork, and who can hold many moving parts together without losing the detail.
At its centre is our Recognition of Prior Learning function, where you will guide applicants and work with academic departments to give people credit for what they already know. Alongside this, you will coordinate proficiency testing, serve as secretary to the Teaching and Learning Committee, track project timelines, and keep accreditation documentation in order.
The role calls for a postgraduate qualification in a relevant field, at least 3 years in academic support or higher education administration, and real experience with RPL processes. Familiarity with online learning is an advantage.
It suits someone organised, discreet, and steady under competing deadlines, who takes pride in doing careful work that helps learners get through the door.
