The Min. of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water & Rural Development (MoLAFWRD) launched the Zimbabwe Online Agricultural College today. The EU funded ZAKIS project in collaboration with the MoLAFWRD developed the Education 5.0 aligned agricultural education colleges curriculum that will also be delivered virtually.

Through the EU funded ZAKIS Project, 7,000 extension officers will be seating for in-service exams in June 2023 through the ZimAgricExtension Inservice Training App. This contributes to ongoing building of Agritex extension staff capacities.

The ZAKIS Project had the opportunity to host the EU Ambassador to Zimbabwe Jobst von Kirchmann at the ZITF. The Ambassador was quite pleased with one of the project's digital innovation the ZimAgriHub (www.zimagrihub.org.zw). He expressed much interest on the digital solution mentioning that he would like to make the platform known and more visible. ZITF 2023 Transformative Innovation Global Competitiveness.

The EU-funded ZAKIS project has handed over 8 utility vehicles and 18 motorcycles to the Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development Zim. The vehicles are part of the project's efforts to strengthen the government's capacity in areas of agriculture research, education, and extension
