What is commerce and production?
-commerce is the distribution of goods and services in order to satisfy human needs and wants
-production is the provision of goods and services in order to satisfy human needs and wants.
-goods are tangible and visible aspects of trade such as books, pens, pencils etc
-goods can be classified into four categories namely durable goods, non-durable goods producer and consumer goods.
-durable goods are those goods that last for a long time e.g furniture
-non-durable goods are those goods that do not last for a long time e.g newspapers, perishable goods such as meat, milk, flowers.
-producer goods are those goods used to make other goods such as sewing machine
-consumer goods are goods used by consumers e.g soap, sugar,etc
-services are non-tangible and invisible aspects of trade which can be classified as direct and indirect services.
-human needs are basic necessities that human beings cannot live without such as food, shelter, water, clothes
-human wants are luxurious things that human beings can live without, these things are just needed to make life easier,enjoyable and comfortable such as cars, beds, television.........
