AJU Student Represents Zimbabwe at UNESCO Consultation on the Future of Education in Africa 🌍

Arrupe Jesuit University proudly celebrates Nicole Matambudza, a Level 3.2 Accounting and Management student, who represented both Zimbabwe and AJU at the UNESCO SDG 4 Youth & Student Network Consultation on the Post-2030 Education Agenda for Africa held on 31 July 2026.

Nicole joined young leaders and education stakeholders from across the continent to contribute to shaping the future of education in Africa, ensuring that youth voices remain central to the development of the Post-2030 Education Agenda.

Her participation is a testament to AJU's commitment to forming globally engaged leaders who contribute meaningfully to society.

As July comes to a close — the month in which we bid farewell to our beloved Prof. Anthony Chennells— Arrupe Jesuit University extends its deepest gratitude to everyone who helped preserve the memory of an exceptional scholar, mentor, and colleague.

Following our call for tributes, we were humbled by the overwhelming response from staff, students, alumni, friends, and colleagues who shared heartfelt reflections, cherished memories, poems, and messages of appreciation.

These moving contributions have now been brought together in a commemorative tribute publication celebrating Prof. Chennells’ remarkable life, distinguished academic journey, and the profound impact he made on generations of students and the wider academic community.

We sincerely thank everyone who stood with Prof. Chennells’ family and Arrupe Jesuit University through messages, prayers, and words of comfort. Your kindness, solidarity, and support have meant so much during this period of mourning.

This tribute is a lasting testament to a life devoted to scholarship, mentorship, service, and humanity. Though Prof. Chennells has left us, his wisdom, compassion, and commitment to education will continue to inspire us.

The first half was a masterclass in time management: studying Computer Engineering at Loyola University, keeping up with my Arrupe Jesuit University classes online, and volunteering as an English teacher. Surviving that pressure led to an incredible 5-month internship in Loyola's Quantitative Methods department, working with top-tier professors and engineers.

HR INTERN ADVERT

The Human Resources Department at Arrupe Jesuit University is looking for a competent and passionate undergraduate student who can work as an HR Intern (industrial attachment). The applicant must be studying towards a bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Psychology, and Industrial Relations or related in Zimbabwe. The Intern will be reporting to the Human Resources Officer.
