📖 HIDDEN TREASURES

> Matt.13.44 - "Again, the kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and hid; and for joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field."

Some people, especially unbelievers, may never understand the joy you have experienced since receiving the LORD Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal Saviour.

This is because they do not know the treasures that you have discovered. In today's parable, Jesus compares the Kingdom of Heaven to a treasure hidden in a field. In the same way, God's Word can be likened to a field containing countless spiritual treasures waiting to be discovered by those who diligently seek Him.

Within the Scriptures are treasures such as joy, peace, wisdom, knowledge, faith, hope, love, guidance, and many other blessings. Once you discover one of these treasures, you are inspired to dig deeper so that you may uncover even more. You willingly leave behind certain habits, associations, and pursuits that once occupied your time so that you can devote yourself to searching for the riches found in God's Word.

This is one reason why the world often fails to understand believers. They do not understand why you have chosen to leave certain things behind for the sake of the Gospel. They can not comprehend the joy you experience while spending time in the Scriptures because they have not yet discovered the treasures hidden within them.

Moreover, the wisdom, principles, and solutions needed to overcome life's limitations are found in God's Word. Therefore, continue searching, studying, and meditating on the Scriptures if you desire to grow spiritually and overcome the challenges that stand before you.

📖 STILL SMALL VOICE

> Acts 27:11 - Nevertheless, the centurion was more persuaded by the helmsman and the owner of the ship than by the things spoken by Paul.

There is a grave error that the world often makes: we set our own expectations of how God should speak to us. If God speaks in a different way, we ignore Him, and as a result, we fail to overcome certain barriers in our lives.

The world tends to listen more to the voice of experience, the voice of wealth, influence, education, social standing, and power rather than the Voice of God. Many failed to receive Jesus Christ when the Word became flesh simply because of His family background. They knew that the Messiah was coming and were actually waiting for Him. But when He came, they did not listen to His Voice because He did not meet the criteria set by the world.

Paul warned them not to proceed with the journey, but they ignored him because, to them, he was just a prisoner. In the end, they lost the ship and its cargo because they chose to listen to the voice of experience and wealth over the Voice of God.

Many times, we are misled into listening to the voices of this world because they are usually loud and prominent. Elijah expected to hear the Voice of God in a great and mighty wind that broke the mountains, or in an earthquake, or in a fire. But after all that, God spoke to him in a still small voice. God does not always speak to us in the way we expect. We therefore need the help of the Holy Spirit to distinguish God's Voice from the voices of this world.

📖 LISTEN TO THE VOICE

> Luke.10.39 - Her sister, Mary, sat at the Lord's feet, listening to what He taught.

Servants of God are not only servants of God when they stand behind the pulpit. Even if your subordinate at work is a pastor, evangelist, prophet, teacher, or apostle, you may still have the authority to assign duties to him or her in the workplace. However, always remember that you are interacting with someone whom God has called and entrusted with a special ministry.

I have observed that many people do most of the talking whenever they are around servants of God, while the servants of God remain quiet for most of the conversation. Yet, whenever possible, we should make the most of such opportunities to receive wisdom, counsel, and spiritual insight from them. Most of us do not have the privilege of spending a lot of time with these vessels of God. Therefore, whenever we meet them, we should value the opportunity and never miss the chance to hear the voice of God through His servant.

Whether you meet at church, at school while picking up children, in a parking lot, or anywhere else, be attentive and make good use of the moment. You are free to ask relevant questions and respond when spoken to, but also take time to listen. One word from God can bring direction, encouragement, correction, or even a breakthrough that changes the course of your life.

Mary understood the value of being in the presence of Jesus. She sat at His feet and listened attentively to every word He spoke. She did not want to miss a single moment of His teaching. Although Jesus was a family friend, Mary recognized that He was also the Messiah. She chose to listen and learn.

Likewise, some servants of God may be your relatives, friends, colleagues, or acquaintances. While maintaining those relationships, never lose sight of the grace and calling that God has placed upon their lives. Value what God has deposited in them and pay close attention when they speak. Through them, God may impart a truth, a revelation, or a word of wisdom that will remain with you forever.

📖 FULFILMENT

> Matt. 26:54 - "How then could the Scriptures be fulfilled, that it must happen thus?"

After the mob led by Judas Iscariot, sent by the chief priests to arrest Jesus, arrived at Gethsemane, Peter drew his sword and cut off the ear of one of the men.

Peter's actions were courageous and well-intentioned. It appeared capable of stopping what was about to happen and providing immediate relief from the crisis. Yet, in reality, it would have prevented the fulfilment of God's greater plan. Had Jesus escaped arrest, the Scriptures concerning His suffering, death, and resurrection would not have been fulfilled.

Many times in life, we are tempted to make decisions that offer instant relief from our present challenges. While such decisions may seem wise at the moment, they can sometimes interfere with what God is trying to accomplish in and through our lives.

Abraham nearly gave up waiting for God's promise and chose Ishmael. Saul offered a sacrifice he was not authorized to offer because he could not wait. The Israelites often sought quick solutions instead of trusting God's timing. In each case, impatience threatened God's intended purpose.

Before making that decision today, ask yourself: "Is this my sword, or is this God's will?" Will this action merely solve a temporary problem, or will it position me for the fulfilment of God's promises?

Some doors must close. Some seasons must be endured. Some sacrifices must be made. Not because God has forgotten us, but because His greater purpose is unfolding.

I do not know which sword you may be tempted to pull out today. But before you do, pause and consider whether it could hinder the fulfilment of God's Word and purpose in your life.

📖 THE WORD

>Luke 5:5 - But Simon answered and said to Him, "Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless, at Your word, I will let down the net."

> Luke 5:6 - And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their net was breaking.

An experienced fisherman understands that there are many factors that can affect a good catch of fish. Weather conditions, water temperature, water currents, fishing equipment, location, and several other factors can all influence the amount of fish one catches.

I believe that on the day Jesus met Simon and his partners, some of these factors may have combined to make their fishing trip unfruitful. They had worked hard throughout the night and caught nothing.

However, when the Word was spoken, it overrode every limiting factor. The fish responded to the command behind the Word and rushed into the nets.

In the same way, everything in your marriage may seem to be pointing toward separation or divorce. The economic environment, declining sales in your business, or many other circumstances may be suggesting that failure is inevitable. A doctor's report may even be painting a gloomy picture.

Yet no matter the situation you may be facing, it can be reversed and corrected by the Word of God. God's Word carries the power to change what appears impossible and make it possible.

God does not allow any word that proceeds from Him to return to Him void, without accomplishing the purpose for which it was sent. Allow God to speak a word into your life, believe it, and obey it. As you do so, what once seemed impossible will become possible.

📖 GOOD DEEDS

>Ruth 2:12 - "The LORD repay your work, and a full reward be given you by the LORD God of Israel, under whose wings you have come for refuge."

Ruth found favour with Boaz because of the good reputation she had built for herself.

Boaz had heard about everything Ruth had done for her mother-in-law since the death of her husband. Remember, from that time until their return to Bethlehem, life had not been easy for Naomi. It is therefore safe to conclude that the kindness and care Ruth showed to Naomi were not motivated by the prospect of material gain. Rather, they flowed from a sincere and compassionate heart.

It is worthwhile to do good without expecting anything in return. People may never repay you or even appreciate the good deeds you do. At times, they may even discourage you with negative words despite your efforts.

Never grow weary of doing good. People may overlook your sacrifices, but there is a God in heaven who sees everything. In His perfect time, He will reward every act of kindness, faithfulness, and love that is done with a pure heart.
