Beginners Fashion Design Classes (Ages 8-15):

We encourage creativity, artistic skills and passion. The girls create mood boards to help immerse themselves in a particular theme, genre and color palate. These are visual boards or personal collage of ideas using things like magazine clippings, sketches, fabric swatches, color samples, buttons or anything relates to the outfit or clothing line they are creating. We will have themes: western, neon, African and more and the girls will create a mood board around that theme. Once the board is up on the wall the girls will use it for inspiration to create their very own designs. The girls use basic ready-made line sketches to create their designs over. Intermediate Fashion Design Classes (Ages 8-15):

This class is for girls who have completed the beginner’s class as they delve deeper into where do designers get their ideas, understanding the basic terminology design lines, silhouettes, color and line illusion. They learn sketching techniques, use of color themes in fashion and developing mood board for a fashion collection. They also learn basic design styles likes necklines, collars and sleeves. Then we focus in on details to make their designs unique. What really makes this class fun is learning the techniques of finding inspiration as we create mood boards, learn about color, fashion line themes, embellishing and create our own inspirational file. Basic pattern drafting: (Ages 13-15):

This class a little of math and science and lots of fun. The girls learn basic pattern drafting of simple skirt and tops. They also learn basic drafting of patterns for different styles of basic necklines, collars and sleeves.
