Learn How To Shift Gears in Manual Car ✅

31/10/2025

Today is World Teachers’ Day! While most people think of classrooms, we at Ellen Driving School think of calm, quiet confidence built from the passenger seat.

Because teaching someone to drive is more than just explaining rules. It’s reading nerves, observing the learner’s reactions, repeating instructions as needed, and allowing time and space for questions and feedback.

A big shoutout and thanks to all the teachers out there.

New season. New challenges.

A new season brings fresh challenges for all drivers, especially learner drivers.

Safe driving is not just about quick reactions, but also about maintaining constant awareness of road conditions, signage, and other vehicles.

By focusing your attention and following road rules—such as adhering to speed limits, observing lane markings, and giving way appropriately—you’ll help keep yourself and others safe on the road.

No one feels completely ready to drive, but readiness isn't the goal.

↳ The goal is to show up.
↳ Be patient, focus & practice
↳ Learn gradually and progress— until it becomes second nature.

Confidence comes from action, not waiting. It isn’t something you wait for – It’s something you build by doing.

Are you learning to drive and find yourself playing the comparison game with other learners?

Remember that you are not behind. You’re on your own path! Don’t allow the self-doubt to hold you back.

When we compare ourselves to others, we focus on all of their strengths and achievements and ignore our own.

Give yourself the space to learn at your own pace.

And if you need a trusted, experience professional in the passenger seat, we’re ready when you are.

👉 Practicing with parents isn't the same as professional lessons. Here’s why:

❌They can pass on bad habits.
❌You might miss key skills for the test.
❌"Winging it" may work until test day.

You need structured training to build confidence, understand road rules, and practice safe driving from the start.

Driving Mum and Dad crazy is one thing. Driving safely and passing your test is our priority.

Thinking of booking your first lesson? Unsure if you’re on the right track? Send us a message — we’ll help you figure out the best next step.

One Day. One Goal: Zero Lives Lost.

Imagine a day where no one gets a call about a loved one.
Imagine a day where every driver chooses patience over rushing.
Imagine a day when we all arrive safely.

Today we drive like every life matters—because it does.

Take the pledge. Lead the way.

Albinism Awareness Day June 13th.
We are not ALBINO, because that is not a race it’s a condition. Just as someone born with epilepsy or Down syndrome , it’s a condition of their existence but not what they are. You wouldn’t call the an “epileptic” or a “Down syndrome”….I am a Black Woman with albinism. See below for more info about albinism and share with others🙏🏼
Albinism:
Albinism is a group of inherited genetic disorders characterized by a deficiency or absence of melanin, the pigment that gives color to skin, hair, and eyes.
Melanin:
Melanin is produced by melanocytes, specialized cells in the skin, hair follicles, and eyes.
Impact on Appearance:
Albinism leads to pale skin, light-colored hair (ranging from blonde to reddish), and eyes that are often pink, light blue, or light brown due to the lack of melanin.
Vision Problems:
Albinism can also cause vision problems such as nystagmus (involuntary eye movement), strabismus (crossed eyes), and photophobia (sensitivity to light).
Different Types of Albinism:
There are different types of albinism, and the severity of the condition can vary depending on the specific type. For example, some individuals with albinism may have very pale skin and white hair, while others may have more pigment in their skin and hair.
