Pamusasa is an online learning platform for Form 1 - Form 6.

07/11/2023

In 2020, we responded to the Covid-19 pandemic by establishing the first online learning platform in Zimbabwe, the Pamusasa Learning Academy (www.pamusasa.org). The Academy provides access to learning through the distance education model. We are now taking it a step further. The Lakeview Institute Boarding School (www.lakeviewinstitute.org) a Non Profit School, which will serve as the traditional school that supports the online platform, giving student-centric learning options. Lakeview institute will provide learning anchored on the International Baccalaureate principles that promote self-determination and skills development. The Lakeview Institute is our way of responding to the critical shortage of schools in Zimbabwe. Help us build Lakeview Institute.

According to The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and Zimbabwe report (April 27, 2022), Before the pandemic, 21% of Zimbabwean youth were not in school before the pandemic. The number stands at 47% post pandemic. The Teach for Zimbabwe, a non-profit organization reported (2021) that over 67% of Zimbabwe’s school children do not have access to holistic, quality education that will ensure they can reach their full potential. In November 2022, the Amalgamated Rural Teachers Union of Zimbabwe (Artuz) reported that 63% of rural pupils drop out of school, with girls in the majority because of the unavailability of financial resources. The cost of education in Zimbabwe is six times higher than the total average income of an average family.

In January 2023, the Primary and Secondary Education permanent secretary bemoaned the under-funding of the education sector. This has led to a shortage of at least 3,000 schools in Zimbabwe. Waiting for the Government to build all the required schools is proving to be a futile endeavor. It is up to us, as citizens of this great country, to stand up and be counted.

We need your support to raise the funds to build Lakeview Institute. If you are in Zimbabwe on the 9th December 2023, please join us for this great cause. If not, we also have our Go Fund Me page where you can join us by donating to this cause. Here is the link
