The teams brought plenty of energy and teamwork into the first day of this year's Owen Davis Rugby tournament. The energy on the field was electric! A huge well done to all the players, coaches, officials and supporters who made the first day such a success! Your passion and encouragement helped create an amazing atmosphere.

What an incredible adventure our Grade Five children had last week! From learning in the classroom to experiencing the wonders of our amazing country firsthand, this camp was packed with learning, discovery and excitement! Our Grade Fives had the amazing opportunity to visit the Kariba Power Station and Dam Wall, where they learnt more about how hydroelectric power is generated and the importance of the dam. The adventure continued with visits to the Crocodile Farm and Fish Farm, giving the children fascinating insights into wildlife, conservation and aquaculture. And, of course, there was plenty of adventure too! The children enjoyed quad biking, ziplining, and an unforgettable boat cruise on Lake Kariba. It was a wonderful opportunity for them to learn beyond the classroom, challenge themselves and create memories that they will treasure for many years.

Day two delivered thrilling matches and outstanding sportsmanship from every team, wrapping up an incredible weekend of netball and soccer! Huge congratulations to all the players for giving it their all and making this tournament one to remember. We shared a wonderful evening at the IPT Soccer and Netball dinner. Huge congratulations to all the students who were present. You represented the provinces well. A heartfelt thank you to our talented MCS Band for providing such wonderful entertainment! Your performance was the highlight of the night and showcased the incredible talent within the MCS family. We are also sincerely grateful to our guest speaker, Mr David Simba, for sharing his time and words of encouragement with us. Your inspiring message was a fitting reminder of the values that make school sport so meaningful.

We had the privilege of hosting Mr Karl Makahamadze, who travelled all the way from Dubai to spend time with our Difference Makers. It was a truly educational and inspiring day for the Difference Makers Club.

Mr Makahamadze is one of the founders of 'Suited App', a digital platform that equips young people with essential life skills that go beyond what is taught in the classroom. The learners thoroughly enjoyed the session and gained valuable insights.

The highlight of the visit was when the children discovered that Mr Makahamadze is a proud Midlands Christian School alumnus. It was encouraging for them to see someone who once walked the same school corridors making a positive impact on a global scale. Thank you, Karl, for so generously giving us your time and making a difference in the lives of these children!
