The second term brought us together for an exciting inter-schools spelling bee! 🐝📚

It was a day filled with friendly competition, camaraderie, and a shared passion for learning. All our learners gave their very best, demonstrating courage, confidence, and a love for words. Most importantly, schools came together to encourage learners to read more and celebrate the joy of literacy.

A community that grows together stays together.

Our Mothers & Daughters Brunch was a beautiful opportunity for mothers to connect with their daughters, pray together, and speak words of love, encouragement, and blessing over them. 💕🙏

School is not always about sitting in a classroom and learning the ABCs. It is also about opening young minds to imagination, creativity and the wonderful world of make-believe.

During the course of the term, our learners had the opportunity to step into the Wild West and imagine what it would be like to be a cowboy or cowgirl! 🤠🐎

There were plenty of smiles, lots of fun and, of course, some fantastic cowboy and cowgirl adventures along the way!

We may have started the day as learners, but by the end of it, there was definitely a new sheriff in town!

Earlier this term, our Grade 4 and Grade 5 learners embarked on an unforgettable educational tour to Great Zimbabwe in Masvingo. It was a wonderful opportunity for them to experience firsthand the rich history and cultural heritage of our nation.

From climbing the majestic granite rocks to exploring the ancient stone city, our learners immersed themselves in the stories of one of Africa’s greatest civilizations. The trip brought history to life in a way that no classroom lesson ever could.

The days were filled with discovery, adventure, laughter, and meaningful learning. We are grateful for the memories made and the knowledge gained.

During the course of the term, Gwanda Christian School was greatly blessed by Gideons International, who generously presented each of our Grade 3 to Grade 7 learners with a Bible. This wonderful gift is an investment not only in our learners’ education but also in their spiritual growth.

Mr. H. Dube visited the school on behalf of Gideons International to distribute the Bibles and encouraged our learners to read God’s Word regularly, discover its truths for themselves, and allow it to guide their lives.

We are sincerely grateful to Gideons International for their generosity and partnership in helping us nurture children who are grounded in Christian values. We pray that every Bible given will inspire a lifelong love for God’s Word and strengthen the faith of each learner.

It is that time of the term again, when hushed voices can be heard all over the school campus, when learners are busy reminding one another which topic was their teacher’s favourite and therefore surely has to be in the exam!

Our students are hard at work trying to recall everything they have learned over the last half of the year. They are revising those concepts that were emphasized in class, convinced that these are the topics most likely to appear in the examination paper.

As our learners sit for their mid-year examinations, we want to wish each and every one of them the very best. May they approach their papers with confidence, remain calm under pressure, and see the fruit of the hard work they have put in throughout the term.

One of the highlights of the term was welcoming our Grade 1 parents to experience firsthand just how far our young readers have come. It was a joy to watch our learners confidently demonstrate the progress they have made—from mastering their letter sounds and learning new words to now reading with fluency and confidence.

Their growth is a wonderful testament to the strong reading culture that is at the heart of Gwanda Christian School. We are incredibly proud of our Grade 1 learners, our dedicated teachers, and our supportive parents, whose partnership has made this achievement possible.

Our 2026 Fathers & Sons Braai was a memorable celebration of fatherhood, mentorship, and intentional parenting.

Fathers were challenged to keep raising their sons to become the men, leaders, and fathers of tomorrow.

Keith Haywood shared the powerful Seven Buckets Model, encouraging fathers to help their sons intentionally develop their beliefs, identity, knowledge, skills, networks, resources, and reputation. His message reminded us that raising well-rounded men requires purpose, consistency, and investment.

Gerald Matheba inspired fathers to draw closer to their sons, nurturing meaningful relationships that will shape responsible, godly men for the next generation.

It was a day filled with learning, fellowship, and lasting memories. Thank you to every father and son who joined us and made the day so special.

Here’s to building stronger families and a brighter future—one father, one son, one conversation at a time.
