To supervise, control and coordinate maintenance staff engaged in renovation, refurbishing, repairs and maintenance of the resort’s structures, buildings and amenities.

Skills/Requirements:


Ideally this is a position to be filled by a Couple (Maintenance Manager + Reservations / FOH / Receptionist)

Maintenance Manager

Duties

· Supervise maintenance staff, which includes work allocation, and problem resolution; evaluates performance and makes recommendations to Lodge Manager.

· Monitors contractors to achieve peak productivity

· Ensures repairs are carried out effectively.

· Plan routine maintenance tasks.

· Budget and allocate resources to accomplish desired and planned projects

· Perform and supervise refurbishment of chalets, boardwalks and other amenities.

· Ensure the efficient use of resources

· Responsible for the requisition of materials

· Ensures that tools and equipment are safe and secure and allocates and controls the use of tools and other resources.

· Supervise, delegate and allocate staff

· Ensure that staff performs tasks as instructed, in order to achieve the desired results.

· Attends to staff grievances and complaints,



Qualifications, Experience and Competencies

· Grade 12

· 3-5 years relevant maintenance experience

· 1-2 years’ experience coordinating independent projects or tasks

· 5 years in building/ trade environment

· Hand and Power tools basic carpentry, electrical, plumbing and Brick laying.



Reservations / Reception / FOH

Duties:

To manager FOH / Reception / Reservation

· Maintain a positive attitude and friendly demeanor.

· Welcome guests

· Manage incoming calls

· Perform reservation requests

· Respond to all guest questions and requests.

· Manage guest bookings and reservations.

· Keep a tidy and orderly workspace.

· Verify customer information and payment options,

· Determining rooms available

· Assign rooms and respond to customers with confirmation emails or letters.

· Accept payments

· Check guests out.

· Administration

·

Must have

· Min 1- 2 yrs exp in Reservation & / FOH

· Min 1 -2 yrs exp in Reception

· Previous exposure to a Lodge / Hotel environment

· Pref a tertiary education in related field



Qualification

· Matric

· Relevant tertiary qualification would be advantageous

· Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant computer programs.

Duties will include the following:

Answer and direct telephone calls.
Assist with queries and guest's complaints.
Make reservations, adjustments to reservations.
Process payments and compile invoices of guests stay.
