This event marked a meaningful milestone for our Entomology Department as we successfully received imaging equipment dedicated to the study and documentation of insect biodiversity.
The donation event was a great success, bringing together partners and stakeholders in a shared commitment to strengthening research, education, and preservation. This support has enhanced our capacity to make natural heritage more accessible and better understood.
From the smallest specimen to the biggest discoveries, every detail now has a clearer story to tell.

🌿 Official Ceremony Announcement | Khami Field School 2026 🇿🇼🇫🇷
The Natural History Museum of Zimbabwe, under the National Museums and Monuments of Zimbabwe, in collaboration with the French Embassy in Zimbabwe, is pleased to announce an official event to be held as part of the Khami Field School 2026 programme.
This occasion will be graced by His Excellency, Paul-Bertrand Barets, Ambassador of France to Zimbabwe, who will preside over the official handover of 3D imaging equipment to the Museum.
This contribution is of particular significance to the National Museums and Monuments of Zimbabwe, as it enhances access to heritage through digital innovation. Increasing public access to heritage remains a key result area for the institution, with a vision to make Zimbabwe’s heritage more accessible to all by 2030.
The handover further reflects the French Embassy’s continued commitment to strengthening biodiversity research, conservation efforts, and scientific advancement in Zimbabwe.
