Our inclusive education workshop was a powerful success—and our teachers learned so much. 🎓✨ From understanding national and international inclusion policies to identifying both physical and invisible disabilities, the team dove deep into what true equity looks like. They explored practical screening tools for early intervention, mastered classroom strategies like differentiated instruction and assistive technology, and tackled real challenges like large class sizes and limited resources with creative solutions. The "aha" moments were nonstop, and the energy in the room was unforgettable. Our educators left feeling confident, inspired, and ready to make every child feel seen, supported, and included. ❤️🏫 This is what learning looks like when inclusion leads the way.

✨ Learning never stops at KGVI! ✨
This past week we watched some of our staff members bravely learning to push themselves in a wheelchair — not because of an accident, but because we believe in being prepared. It’s not easy at first, but with practice, patience, and a few handy tricks, confidence grows fast. Too often, people think wheelchair skills are only needed after an injury — but isn’t it wonderful to see our team exploring, learning, and enjoying the experience ahead of time? Let’s celebrate curiosity, courage, and the power of proactive learning — KGVI shows that preparation can be empowering and even fun! 🚀♿🌟W.N

✨ Parents, students & staff of KGVI — hear this! ✨
What we planted together this term has taken root — now let’s water it with joy! 🎉 Celebrate the wins (big and small), laugh at the stumbles, and keep curiosity buzzing over the holidays. Read a story together, replay a proud moment, try a silly quiz, or turn revision into a friendly family challenge — just a few minutes each day will grow confidence and spark success. 🌱📚 Let’s return with brighter smiles, sharper minds, and the KGVI spirit stronger than ever — ready to soar! 🚀💙Z.M

This is Thandekile Sibanda! 🌟
This brave and bright girl joined us this year at KGVI. Thandekile lives with osteogenesis imperfecta and has experienced multiple fractures, and she’s currently healing from a recent fracture to her left leg. Despite everything, she remains cheerful and strong — receiving loving care and close monitoring in our sickbay. 💙
At the hospital, she’s already won hearts with her creativity — she loves drawing and brightening the ward with her art. 🎨✨ At the sickbay she’s enjoying her own cosy recovery setup and making the most of every day.
Thandekile proves every day that courage and a smile can shine through the toughest times. Let’s surround her with love and support.❤️N.N

Greatness isn't a someday promise—it's a daily reality. At King George VI School, we see it every time a student uses an iPad with confidence, and in every moment a child knows they belong. Assistive technology unlocks potential, builds independence, and makes true inclusion not just an ideal, but how we show up—every day, for every student. 🙏👨🎓👩🎓MG

Meet Vimbai Makina, who joined the King George VI family in 2023. This is what she had to say about Independent Living, “I came here in 2023 for my form 1 enrollment, and I stayed in Sinqobile house for some time. I was living under special care because of my disability which is Osteo Genesis Imperfecta stage 3.
Now I have moved to Paradise Unit with other big girls, and I am very happy because it means more space to read and time to socialize with other girls. I have gained skills such as time management, food preparation and being responsible. Within a short space of time, I am Independent. Disability is not inability. Never Give Up!” JM
