Precision in the field starts with precision in training.

As mining technologies continue to evolve, so must the skills of the professionals who use them.

This week, we are pleased to host Mine Surveyors and Mine Survey Technicians from the Ministry of Mines and Mining Development for hands-on RTK (Real-Time Kinematic) survey equipment training. Initiatives such as these are essential in ensuring that the mining sector remains equipped with the knowledge, tools, and expertise needed to improve accuracy, efficiency, and decision-making in the field.

How do you see modern surveying technologies transforming mining operations in Zimbabwe?

Last week, we were honoured to participate in a Career Day hosted by King George VI Centre — an inspiring platform promoting inclusivity, empowerment, and equal access to career opportunities for all learners. 💙

This engagement with students afforded us the opportunity to share insights into career pathways within the mining and minerals sector, reinforcing an important message:

"Disability does not limit potential". The mining industry, like every sector, must continue creating opportunities that are inclusive, accessible, and empowering for everyone.

We commend King George VI Centre for hosting such a meaningful initiative and for championing a future where every learner is encouraged to dream boldly and pursue their ambitions with confidence.

GEO TALK: ZIMBABWE' CRITICAL MINERAL FRONTIER

20/05/2026

Imagine if that decision had never been made…

Did you know?
On 4 May 1992, the Bulawayo City Council approved the establishment of the Zimbabwe School of Mines campus at the Old Nic Mine site in Killarney — a moment that would reshape mining education in Zimbabwe.

Before then, ZSM operated from Bulawayo Polytechnic, with roots dating back to 1934. From that move, something greater was born. What was once an old mining site became a centre of excellence — producing professionals in Mining, Geology, Gemmology, Metallurgy, Surveying, Mine Safety, and emerging technologies.

What began as an idea became a legacy.
92 years later, the mission continues.

Today, we celebrate ZSM Day ⛏️
