CBC Triumphs at the ATS Senior Debate Tournament

The CBC Debate team were this weekend crowned as the champions of ATS High Schools Senior Debate Tournament which saw 20 teams taking part. The teams debated interesting motions such as, ‘We support the fees must fall movement,’ and ‘This house regrets Valentine’s Day’ among others.

The CBC team has established itself over the last few seasons as force to contend with. The CBC team comprised Munotidiashe Matsvairo, Ebenezer Kudita, Muziwethu Ndlovu, Thabiso Ncube and Takudzwa Dinidza. The boys gave such a sterling performance that left everyone convinced that they were the best as they emerged as the only team that had not conceded defeat from the preliminary rounds right up to the final where they were eventually crowned the champions.

The CBC team received medals and a trophy for coming first. The boys also got personal awards for making it to the Best Top 10 Speakers of the Tournament. Munotidaishe Matsvairo and Muziwethu Ndlovu tied for the 3rd Best Speaker of the Tournament. Ebenezer Kudita got 2 personal awards; Best Male Speaker as well as the Overall Best Speaker of the Tournament.

Today CBC battled it out against Falcon for the water polo Hart Trophy. 1st team played an extremely competitive last game which sadly ended 4-3. The fantastic turnout made for a very enjoyable game. Thank you to all our guest and supporters. Green and Gold always.
