What is the SOTAMBE Filmmaking BootCamp?

It is one of the most impactful and talked-about filmmaking training programmes in Zambia open to Southern African Filmmakers!

It is known for its military-style intensity and production-driven approach simulating a real life of a filmmaker on set. From the moment participants arrive, they are assigned roles and pushed straight into production. In just 3 days, teams must develop, shoot, and complete a film under real industry pressure.

No theory. No comfort zone. Just filmmaking.

As the name suggests, the BootCamp also includes physical exercise sessions — because filmmaking is demanding, and endurance is one of the qualities needed on set.

Dates: 3–6 April 2026
Location: Kitwe
(Recommended arrival: Evening of 2 April, Departure: Morning of 7 April)

Participants should bring:
• Own beddings
• Change of clothes
• Personal camera equipment (if available)

All other production essentials will be provided.
This BootCamp is designed for filmmakers who are not afraid of challenges, log hours and pushing the boundaries of their creativity!

If you are serious about film — this is where you test yourself!
