SUMMARISED EDUCATION SYSTEM
(ZAMBIA 2025 & BEYOND)
The new curriculum system will run as follows:
Grade 1
Grade 2
Grade 3
Grade 4
Grade 5
Grade 6 (Final Primary Exams)

- The "Grade" system at Secondary level will now be referred to as "Form".
Old New
Grade 7 = Form 1
Grade 8 = Form 2
Grade 9 = Form 3
Grade 10= Form 4 (Final Secondary Exams - "O" Levels)

Grade 11 = Form 5
Grade 12 = Form 6 ("A" Levels)
Then, tertiary education has reduced in years as follows:
1. University Degree = 3 years
2. Diploma =2 years
3. Certificates will be phased out
Therefore, the 2025 Curriculum Framework will be as follows:
1. Primary school education will end at Grade 6.
2. Learners will not automatically progress to secondary school after sitting examinations at Grade 6.
3. Junior and Senior Secondary School merged into Forms (1 to 4).
4. Introduction of Advanced Secondary level or "A" levels (Form 5 and 6).
5. R.E 2044 and 2046 merged.
6. Social Studies has been split into it's constituent subjects of Geography, History and Civics.
7. Science 5124 has been abolished. It's now Physics or Chemistry or both.
8. Integrated Science has been split into it's constituent subjects of Biology, Physics and Chemistry.
9. Schools to offer specialized "O" level and "A" level pathways depending on the guidelines to be provided.

REGISTRATION OF CANDIDATES FOR 2025 EXAMINATIONS OPENS
ECZ announces the commencement of the 2025 examinations candidate registration.
The registration period is from 1st November 2024 to 28th February 2025.
All Registration will be done online using the Online Candidate Registration System-OCRS available to all registered examination centres and provided by ECZ.
Candidates, parents and the general public are advised as follows:
1. Ensure that the details of the learner are captured correctly. All desired names should be captured as no addition or deletion of incorrect names will be accepted after the close of registration.
2. Ensure that subjects are correctly entered.
3. Learners with special educational needs should be appropriately registered to allowed ECZ to provide adequate access arrangements.
4. Payment of examination fees (where applicable) should be done through the payment gateway. No cash payments are allowed at the school or centre level. No individual is allowed to collect funds meant for examinations.
5. Eligible learners especially those in public examination centres and grant aided schools should ensure registration is done before schools close this year.
6. All learners must verify their registration details by signing on the provisional register printed at the examination centre. ECZ will not take any responsibility for any omissions or wrong names captured.
7. No extension will be allowed to this registration process.
8. GCE Candidates should ensure they register in person.
9. GCE Centres whose examination centre status was revoked and not reinstated should not conduct any candidate registration.

Have you noticed that when writing a test or an exam the teacher stays in silence,,,, even if they know the answer they can't say anything so the fact that you are suffering it doesn't mean God is not aware... My dear keep on writing the exam soon your result will be out,,,,,,,,,,
