Happy World Water Day!

Students from our Ndola schools took part in commemorating the world water day celebrations under the theme, “Leveraging Water for Peace”

The event was graced by the Copperbelt Permanent Secretary, Mr Augustine Kasongo who highlighted the critical role water plays in the stability and prosperity of the world.
While Zambia has no history of water related conflicts, The prolonged dry spell being experienced in the country has potential to fuel this risk. This calls for commitment to conserving and responsibly managing this precious resource.

PEAS, in partnership with PSIMA recently conducted WASH trainings in all the PEAS schools with the aim to encourage the adoption of proper handwashing techniques, toilet hygiene and safe water management among students.
Being part of commemorating this day reinforced the importance of fresh water, raising awareness for the people living without access to water and empowered students to become WASH ambassadors within their schools and communities at large.
