Founder’s Reflection

By the President and Founder – Queensgate Schools Limited and its Subsidiaries ( Silver Maple College, Zambian Institute for Psychology and Counselling and Queensgate Schools College).

One of the greatest joys of my heart is witnessing a dream come into reality — a vision that once existed only in the quiet corners of the mind now standing tall and vibrant in the light of day.

I vividly recall a conversation with my brother, Mr. Reuben, during which I shared a deep conviction that it was indeed possible to establish a college that would offer quality and affordable education, even to the less privileged. We both understood, from personal experience, the challenges we faced in our own pursuit of education. It was then that I resolved that if we could not give financial assistance to many, we could at least give them access to education — the key that opens the doors of opportunity.

In pursuit of that vision, Queensgate Schools Limited has continued to extend educational opportunities to deserving students through tuition fee discounts and scholarship initiatives. For others, we have actively engaged and lobbied businesses and corporate partners to support students by sponsoring their education. This has been one of our greatest acts of service — ensuring that no deserving student is left behind because of financial limitations.

Today, as I look back, I can only testify to the faithfulness of God. Along this journey, He has brought together devoted partners, visionary shareholders and investors, magnanimous corporate board members, a resilient and committed management team, dedicated lecturers, and, above all, destined students who have become part of the Queensgate story.

To see these students graduate — some with distinctions, others with merits and credits — fills my heart with immense gratitude and fulfillment. It is a living testimony that when God ordains a vision, He also provides the people, the resources, and the grace to bring it to fruition.

To the graduating class:
Today, you stand as proof that hard work, perseverance, and faith never go unrewarded. As you step into the next chapter of your lives, remember that you are the pride of Queensgate Schools and ambassadors of the values we stand for — integrity, excellence, and service. Go out and make a difference in your families, your communities, and in the nation. The world is waiting for your contribution.

Job Title: Principal
Work station: SILVER MAPLE COLLEGE OF EDUCATION AND HEALTH SCIENCES _LUANSHYA

Supervises:

Registrar
Senior Tutor
Finance Manager
Head ICT
Head Procurement

JOB PURPOSE

To be responsible for strategic leadership, administrative and financial management of the Institution in attaining its role as a player in the country’s economic, social and cultural growth and development through teaching, research, service and innovation.
The Principal shall lead the development of the College’s educational strategic goals, frameworks and policies.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREA
PRINCIPAL MAIN DUTIES
Strategic Planning
Directs the development, implementation and review of the Institutional Corporate Strategic Plan (CSP) in order to ensure attainment of the College’s strategic objectives;
Financial Resource Management
Coordinates the development of annual operating plans and budgets for Board’s approval and prudently manages the Institution’s resources within those budget guidelines.

Academic Administration

*Provides oversight in the planning and management of all academic administration to ensure integrity of the academic records, and all forms of certification of academic achievement of past and present students. Particular attention must be paid to general and faculty rules.

*Communications and Working Relationship
Working closely with faculties/Departments and professional service across the Institution, specifically in areas of teaching and learning, quality enhancement, academic standards, research development, knowledge transfer and internationalization.

Resource Mobilization
*Provides leadership in resource mobilization and management.
Partnerships

*Develops and maintains partnerships with other Institutions, government and non-governmental organizations as well as other interested stakeholders.

Leadership
*Promotes sound corporate governance and ethical standards across the Institution and effectively leads by demonstrating exemplary leadership behaviour, through personal involvement, commitment and dedication in support of organizational values.

Corporate Governance
*Ensures observance of good corporate Governance practices.
*Performance Management System
Supervises timely the development of individual work plans and implementation of annual performance appraisals in order to monitor, evaluate and enhance performance.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

a) Minimum Vocational /Professional Qualifications:

*BSc in Nursing with Nursing education

*5 years experience in Administration

*Management qualification will be an added advantage

*Evidence in Nursing and Midwifery research

Valid practicing licence

b) Minimum Relevant Pre-Job Experience:

*At least two (2) years’ experience at Management level

*A traceable record of Teaching experience at a Higher Institution of Learning
