We all prepare for the unknown. We prepare for an exam that we have no clue of what’s going to be in it. We prepare for interviews not knowing what’s going to be asked. We even prepare for marriage not knowing the outcome of it. How is it so easy to prepare for all these things and more but, fail to prepare for death? No one wants to hear this but the truth is that death is everyone’s end of story (Apart From Rapture). Death is popular yet the most unexpected thing we experience amongst many things. We hate it because it has a way of coming at the wrong time or taking away the best people from this world. Doing things because everyone else is doing them doesn’t mean we are all going to die at the same time.

The phrase ‘‘Put Yourself In My Shoes’’ is very common in this time and age. Everyone is going through something. We all have a story to tell and struggles yet to conquer. We assume what we are facing or have faced before is worse than what everyone out there is going through, until you see listen to what everyone out there is going through. It honestly not a bad thing to hate your situation/s. Honestly God doesn’t give burdens we can’t carry. Every trail, temptation, or struggles are equally given to everyone according to their capacity to overcome them. So, avoid asking ‘why?’.

Listening is something most wise people are good at and only a true wise person knows what and what not to contemplate on. We always have something to say and have less to listen to. We quickly get our neighbor’s idea to run a race we have no vision for. We like earing the things that only benefit us and if it benefits the next generation, you suddenly become lazy. It is because we were brought up to be this way or is it just human nature not to care? We are the community that come together for someone funeral but we are the very same community that watches children being abused and wives going through domestic violence. We are not evening willing to contribute to someone’s education or medical bills when they are sick. How can I even attend someone’s funeral when they could have been alive today if I contributed a K100 to the medical bills, drank responsibly to avoid a car crush, or even just keeping my lips sealed just so I could listen attentively to my neighbor’s cry for help.
