When, why it was started

In 2012 the school was started for economically disadvantaged children primarily near the village of Chituleka, Mpika, Zambia, Africa. Meaning of the word chichetekelo

The word chichetekelo means faith in the bemba dialect. The school's name

It's name, Chichetekelo School of Arts and Science, after many attempts at other names, was agreed upon and registered with the Zambian Ministry of Education. The name carries the idea of a vision, mission, goals and objectives, to introduce arts and science, with its core curriculum requirements. Its Motto, Belief Statement and School Creed

Motto: "If we cannot find the road to success, we will make one." Belief Statements:
We will act in a professional manner with integrity and honesty. We will develop relationships characterized by caring and respect. We believe that we are leaders, learners, guides to instruction, and designers of work. We will show compassion, courtesy and respect to ensure individualized success. Creed:
We will not bully or fight. We will stand up for our friends and show kindness and concern to everyone. We will have respect for others, our classroom, and our school. We will stay on task and take care of our business. We will not threaten, put down, or start rumors about other students, staff, or teachers. We will be dependable for others and make them feel safe. GoodMorning Family and Friends.
We recently had Careers day at our School Chichetekelo school of Arts and Science here in Mpika and some of these Children you see in the video couldn’t utter any word in English a few years back. This is what we are proud of since 2012.
Looking at their backgrounds and the way forward these children are now creating their future simply because Somebody believed in them.
