NAKONDE SCIENCE TEACHER ARRESTED FOR
BRUTALLY RA**NG A 15 YEAR OLD FEMALE
PUPIL.
Police in Nakonde have arrested a 32 year old
male teacher of Yolo Secondary School for
brutally ra**ng a 15 year old female pupil of the
same School.
Nakonde District Police in Charge yesterday
confirmed that Mr Robert Sinkololwe was
arrested at school by a combined team of
security officers while he was teaching science.
Charges before the police victim support unity
and the GBV indicate that Mr Sinkololwe defiled/
r***d Sharon (a virgin) of Ntindi Village on
Wednesday last week in the head teacher’s
office, causing heavy flow of blood.
The Science teacher is reported to have
promised to give exam leakages to the girl if she
did not report the case to her parents. Police
sources said the sexually addicted teacher took
advantage of the head teacher’s long absence to
r**e the virgin girl. The school manager for the
same learning institution is infamous for being
absent from duties while supervising his beer
drinking business place within the district.
Both the District Board Secretary Mr Stanley
Mwambazi and Muchinga Province Zambia
National Union of Teachers (ZNUT) Provincial
Secretary Mr Kasanda Nondo condemned the
teacher’s action as barbaric and unprofessional.
”It is sad to see our teacher in police cells for
ra**ng a pupil. We have been telling our teachers
to refrain from sexual relationships with pupils
for it is not just unprofessional but evil. We are
really perturbed by the ra**ng of the poor,
innocent girl (pupil). It is really unfortunate that
this happened considering that the girl in
question will soon be seating for her mock and
final exams. We are also sympathizing with the
teacher for he has a family to look after. Let me
say we are really disturbed as a teachers’ union
over what has happened”, Mr Kasanda told
ZANIS after visiting the incarcerated Science
Teacher on Monday.
Meanwhile, OP officers within the border district
have disclosed that they had credible information
that the same incarcerated teacher has been
abusing a lot of female pupils at school for more
than 4years despite him being married to a
fellow teacher.
The op officers say the named teacher has been
promising to assist female pupils during the
exams. Intelligence officers have also disclosed
that they received complaints from the defiled
girl’s parents that the School Head Teacher Mr
Banda wanted to offer them a bribe in exchange
for the defiler’s freedom.
Mr Banda fears to be equally implicated in the
r**e case given the fact that his office was the
one which was being used to defile the underage
school girls by the same teacher while he was
absent performing his personal duties.
Cases of teachers defiling pupils have become
rampant in Muchinga Province since the first,
most serious Provincial Education Officer Dr
Jobiks Kalumba was transferred to Northern
Province where he was subsequently promoted
to the post of Permanent Secretary. This year
alone, police have recorded 8 defilement cases in
Muchinga Province involving teachers against
pupils.
“I think there is need for various stake holders to
start counseling teachers in Muchinga Province
against having sexual affairs with their learners. I
fear that some vulnerable pupils will be( HIV)
positive by the time they graduate because some
of these teachers they go out with are moving
graves”, said a senior police officer in Chinsali.
