Today, Mazabuka Girls Secondary School had the honour of welcoming back one of its own, Mr. Thomas, who served the institution with distinction from 1984 to 1995 as Head of Department – Languages. His wife who wasn't physically present today was the Head of Department – Natural Sciences.
Accompanied by his daughter, a former pupil of the school, the visit became an emotional reunion filled with cherished memories, laughter, and heartfelt reflections. As they shared stories with members of staff, they fondly recalled former colleagues, unforgettable school events, and the special moments that made Mazabuka Girls a second home.
The emotions were especially overwhelming for Mr. Thomas’ daughter Rosemary, who reflected on how the school laid the foundation for her life and played a significant role in shaping the person she is today. Her gratitude and affection for the institution were evident, reminding us all of the lasting impact a school can have on its learners.
Moments like these are a beautiful testament to the enduring legacy of Mazabuka Girls Secondary School, a place where memories are made, lives are shaped, and bonds remain strong long after the school years have passed.

Today was a productive and inspiring day at Mazabuka Girls Secondary School as we held our one-day workshop facilitated by the school deputy head teacher Mr Shimalungwe and the CPD coordinator Mrs Mulemwa.
Our teachers took time to reflect, learn, and grow together—focusing on strengthening teaching and learning practices. The workshop covered key areas such as understanding Competency-Based Education (CBE) principles and diagnosis, effective lesson planning, and the pillars of effective teaching. Participants also engaged in sessions on monitoring through GPS, assessment and evaluation, as well as content planning and mapping
The group sessions were especially engaging, with everyone sharing ideas and practical experiences.
It was a great opportunity to strengthen our commitment to delivering quality education and better learning outcomes for our learners. 📚✨

Today, Easter Sunday, we celebrate the resurrection of Christ — the very foundation of our faith and hope. It is a day of renewal, joy, and gratitude. And in that same spirit, we also celebrate someone very dear to us: our Headteacher, Mrs. Milimo, on her special day.
At Mazabuka Girls Secondary School, Madam Milimo’s leadership has been a true blessing. She has guided us with vision and dedication, turning challenges into opportunities and dreams into reality. Her commitment has brought growth through developmental projects, strong academic results at Grade 9 and 12, and a teaching staff that is motivated and united. She shows us every day that leadership is about service and belief in people.
On this joyful day, we thank you, Madam, for inspiring us, for building a family where every girl feels she belongs, and for leading us with love and strength. 💖 From all of us at Mazabuka Girls Secondary School: Happy Birthday, Mrs. Milimo! May your year be filled with joy, laughter, and continued success. 🌸

Yesterday was one of those days that remind you why learning should go beyond the classroom. We took our Form 2 learners on a study tour to Kariba North Bank Power Station in Siavonga and honestly, it was an eye-opening experience for everyone.
Seeing their excitement as theory turned into reality was priceless. What we've been discussing in class suddenly came alive right in front of them, from how scientific investigations guide real-world decisions, to the importance of industrial safety in such powerful environments. It didn’t stop there; they also got to appreciate how waste is managed responsibly and how electricity is generated and transmitted to power our daily lives.
It’s moments like these that spark curiosity, inspire dreams, and show them that what they’re learning truly matters. This is what the new CBC curriculum is all about—learning by seeing, doing, and experiencing.
And judging by their smiles, questions, and enthusiasm… it’s working. 💡
