Over 2,000 teachers have gathered on the shores of Lake Bangweulu for the Luapula Expo and Teachers Marathon in Samfya District.

On Friday, the ceremony was officiated by Luapula Province Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Prudence Chinama-Kangwa who was accompanied by Samfya District Commissioner, Mr. Chola Kanonka, Ministry of Education Director-Human Resource, Ms. Phyllis Kachusha and other senior officials and cooperating partners.

The event organised by Toursport has drawn teachers from various parts of the country to undertake the interactive event ahead of this year's Teachers Day Commemoration scheduled for Monday, 5th October, 2026.
