The Zambia Institute of Diplomacy and International Studies (ZIDIS) was deeply honoured to host His Excellency, Mr. Alok Ranjan Jha, the High Commissioner of India to the Republic of Zambia and Special Representative to COMESA, for an exclusive guest lecture with our Diplomatic Practice, Protocol, and Public Relations cohort.
During the session, His Excellency underscored the enduring diplomatic and economic ties between India and Zambia. He shared invaluable insights on contemporary international relations, bilateral trade, and the nuances of cross-cultural engagement.
This interactive session offered our delegates a profound opportunity to bridge academic theory with practical statecraft, learning first hand from a seasoned diplomat.

DIPLOMACY MEETS ENFORCEMENT: A PILLAR FOR NATIONAL SECURITY!
Today, the Zambia Institute of Diplomacy and International Studies (ZIDIS) Acting Director Mr. Cletus Mambo paid a courtesy call on the Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC) Director General, Mr. Nason Banda for the purpose of forging a strategic partnership aimed at building a robust Diplomacy-Enforcement framework.
By merging the ZIDIS "Soft Power" toolkit comprising Diplomacy, International Relations, State/Public Protocol, Negotiation Tactics, and Digital Netiquette—with DEC’s technical expertise in enforcing law on narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and money laundering, the two government institutions can elevate Zambia's defense against local and transnational crime.
This nexus is an imperative given that in today’s interconnected world, dismantling criminal networks requires officers who are both technical experts and accomplished diplomats.
Together, we are strengthening the pillars of peace, security, and socio-economic integrity for our nation.
