The fall of SEARS (one of the leading retail company in the world) should show us us that leadership is a privilege and at no time should we focus on consolidating our position but instead always look forward on how to improve our service to the people we are sent to serve, be it customers of our business , citizens of the nation, members of the congregation we pastor, our spouse, our children , employees e.t.c.

The greatest leaders in history , present and in the future are those who manage to lead themselves first .

Development is not far fetched. Zambia like many African countries can be turned into a first world country. If we take leadership at various levels seriously. Today Ebola is back in DRC why? Today the street vendors who were removed from the streets of Lusaka the Zambia Army to combat Cholera are coming back slowly, posing a serious danger of cholera break out again. Now both these diseases are fast killers and serious measures ought to be in place to avoid recurrence. Qatar and U.A.E(Where Dubai is) are majorly deserts but through leadership they have been turned into paradises. What we need first is not money but serious mental transformation as a nation.
African nations should embark on serious constitutional and electoral reforms aimed at setting a base for future generations. As long as the current leaders both ruling and those in opposition lack a posterity mentality we will leave this continent no better than we found it. Prosperity mentality seem to be the pre-occupation of most politicians. We need to transform mentally. The Church has a big role to play in this movement because it has a platform where it speaks to the nation every week.

Going by these words we need to change our teaching methodology in church. Theres no benefit in people in falling down every time they come for service. Miracles are good but in Africa we seem to be living by miracles as opposed to living by faith(works) as our friends in Europe, USA, Japan, China, South Korea etal. If the church which speaks to people every week fails to teach members to live by work(faith), then Africa is doomed or the church will loose relevance like in China and Russia. We need the South Korean type of church were believers are leading industrialist. They have both prayer and work mountains But common in Africa is prayer and miracle mountains. Even if you get a miracle job you can't keep it by miracle. You keep a job by work(faith). The bible says the Just shall live by work(faith). If faith without work is dead then faith is work.

One of the greatest virtue a leader should have is honesty.
The major area a leader should be honesty about is what they can do or make happen for their followers. Its inherent in leaders to feel they can handle any challenge or problem brought before them. Its wisdom as a leader to be HONESTY ENOUGH to say what you can't instead of raising hope in someone and later fail to help them.
Leadership is simply showing people where to go or how to find money, spouse, job, business, peace e.t.c.
As a leader , you are leading or guiding people somewhere. You are not the place you are a Sign Post to their God ordained destination. So don't delay people by making them thinking the Sign Post(You, The Leader) is their destination. Thats why when people leave your organisation or company or group, don't get angry because no one stays at a sign post. Every normal person or right thinking person always passes the Sign Post. Though you should bare in mind that some sign posts you use them once in your life or every day like Traffic Lights. So as a leader, to some you are a once off Sign Post and to some you are like Traffic Lights on the road to someone's work place, which he or she should obey almost on a daily basis if they are to avoid trouble.

Anyone can read books but only those who do what they have read and heard emerge as leaders in their field of endeavour.
Its easy to share or post what you have read or heard but to practice it, you need extra force from within. And that's what will distinguish you from others.

Greetings friends. Its been long since I was on face book due to business commitments. Nonetheless before the year ends here are some leadership nuggets:
LEADERSHIP should always look to the future.
Though history is important, it should however not control our current thinking or decisions, instead history should tell the leader you can do better than me, look to the future.
A leader must make decisions based on what is anticipated in the future.

To be a leader is essentially a silent a way of telling people that I am able to see things earlier, hear more clearer, decide much better and take better steps than the people you are leading hence the word LEADING.

The joy of leadership is in transforming the place you go to and the mindset of people you lead. Leaving a place the way you found it or worse than you found it is leadership failure. May God give us grace for transformation. Genesis 1:28 "And God blessed them and God said unto them; Be fruitful, multiply,replenish the earth and subdue it..."

Great leaders are men and women of personal devotion, meditation and study. Abraham, Daniel, Job and Joseph never attended any church or denomination every Sunday but they emerged great leaders, infact Transgenerational leaders. Today we hear God's word being taught every Sunday but only few can be said to be impacting society like the Josephs or Abrahams. Why is it so? Lack of personal meditation and fellowship with God. Jesus is Lord.

Though most people enjoy to be in leadership positions, few are ready to pay the cost of coming early before everyone, leaving late after everyone, studying more than everyone, praying more than everyone, loving more than everyone, forgiving more than everyone, giving more than everyone.

A good leader keeps record of how he or she found the situation or place. Documents the vision and how to get to the vision. In my meditation today I realised that normally people keep their National Registration Cards,Passports, Title Deeds, White Books, Insurance Papers, Degrees and Certificates etc very safely because much our lives activities or proof of ownership depend on such but surprising enough very few people have documented their vision and kept it in a safe. A vision which is the reason of our existence is no where near our most cherished documents. Its time to change and put our priorities right. Parents have your spouse and children document their visions and keep them in a safe. Make reference to them time and again. When your child comes to say I want to study this and this bring out the vision and check against what they want to do.
