Girl Empowered Zambia | Smart Girls’ Education and Development Enterprise is a social enterprise that promotes the sustained empowerment of young women socially, economically and psychologically. We are in the business of ensuring that every woman gets the opportunity to be true to themselves, to be independent, to be outstanding leaders, to be world class entrepreneurs, exceptional home builders
& first class humanitarian citizens well resourced, adequately supported and strategically positioned to make impact in their life time & beyond. This is successfully done through training, mentorship, coaching, networking & capacity building events and initiatives. Our Mantra is; ‘‘Smart Girls…empowered to be outstanding’’. The benefits of providing African girls with an education are clear. Educated girls help break the cycle of poverty. Girls who go to school are more likely to enter the work force, earn higher incomes, delay marriage, plan their families, and seek an education for their own children. Girl Empowered Zambia is committed to improving education in Zambia for girls and supporting women run enterprises to grow sustainably. To do so, the Smart Girls’ Education & Development Enterprise (Girl Empowered Zambia) has a Support Fund that provides educational scholarships to girls and business development capacity building and support to women. The focus of the fund is on the provision of immediate, concrete, educational & enterprise support. Mobilization of Funds is done through various means including but not limited to the following Fundraising Events & Activities, Collection, refurbishing and sale of used cloths and materials, Collection and distribution of books and educational materials & Gifts, Donations and Sponsorships. The administration of the Fund/Enterprise is done by a Board of Trustees. OBJECTIVES OF THE FUND/ENTERPRISE
Girl-Child Education Support
To provide brilliant but needy girls of school going ages the financial or material support to continue their formal education
To provide incentive packages to individuals and organizations actively involved in the promotion and advocacy for girl-child education
To supply school equipment, education materials or teaching aids that support girl child education
To invest in projects, programs and initiatives that promote girl child education in Zambia
To provide any other support/assistance consistent with the objective of the Fund/Enterprise
