34 Women Await the UN SAAT Test – Ready to Shine!*

Thirty four Zambian women have completed their Pre Assessment Training and now stand ready for the UN SAAT Test (4–7 May 2027).

With the support of Canada and the Elsie Initiative, Zambia is breaking barriers and empowering women in uniform.

In February 2026, Canada became Zambia’s top export market, accounting for 33% of total exports, driven mainly by copper anodes (89%).

With Canadian imports of copper up 76% early this year, the message is clear: Zambia is a key strategic partner as Canada strengthens its role as a global critical minerals hub.

An Elsie Initiative–supported leadership training is driving real change within the Zambia Police Service.

25 women officers were trained and went on to launch mentorship programmes reaching 190 officers across three provinces.

Since then, 9 women have been promoted, citing increased confidence and stronger leadership skills gained from the training. 💪
