BEING A UNIVERSITY STUDENT IS NOT ENOUGH
***Copied***

This post is for fresh students, who are in University or college; on the road to pursue their first degree. I remember while I was pursuing my degree at the University of Lusaka, one of my lecturers would always advise us to build our network and skills outside of what we are being taught in class. I took this literal, engaged myself in so many activities that have today contributed to my leadership skills, communication skills, grew my network and circle of influence and marketed myself to various organizations.

When I finished University, it was very easy to tap into my networks and get opportunities that helped me grow my career in governance and advocacy. I believe it’s not enough to just be a student in University or college; beyond growing your academic relevance, use your time to also build your network, to volunteer, to build a strong skill-set and to become a dependable young leader.

There are colleagues we where with in University who focused more on being on top of their class but yet without growing their brand, today they are still writing application letters. There’s power in volunteering and dedicating your time to engage in activities that help grow your career. It’s not the degree that makes you relevant, it’s what you achieve beyond the degree that sets you apart.

LIFE AFTER RESULTS: AN ENCOURAGEMENT TO SCHOOL LEAVERS AND STUDENTS
(Credit:Trevor mwansa)
The results had just been announced, anxiety immediately creeped in like lightening. My heart was racing and the mind panaromicaly imagining what would become of me if i had not done well. I bravely sought to know the results while inwardly saying 'Zondifika zindifike". As feared,i did not do very well. There I was having a personal meeting, discussing the motion dubbed 'what next for me' and in that moment I made one of the best decisions of my life-The decision to never give up.

Fast forward, I prayerfully bounced back and went on to graduate at degree and masters level. Brethren, we have drank from the cup of failure and we have tested success. The key is never giving up so do not let your grade 12 results, college or university results crush your spirit. If you have done well, rejoice and don't give in to being reluctant or complacent for success is sustained by continuous hard work. If you have not done well, reflect and identify what could have affected you then persistently work hard. Don't give in to depression or suicidal thoughts because you are not the first nor the last to face such a challenge in life. Kind regards, blessings and best wishes to all. Keep on keeping on.There is hope Hopist

Joseph N musonda writes-
MESSAGE TO THOSE WHO HAVE FAILED GRADE 12 EXAMINATIONS.
________________________________________________
In 2006 I failed my Grade 7 exam, I got 540 mark's and I thought that was the end.
I had to repeat to grade 6 and people laughed at me that I will never do anything, Without knowing God's plan, that was my turning point because things started changing.

After that I had to rewrite grade 7 and got 700 marks of which I was suppose to go to munali boy's but we didn't have money at home so I had to go at a community school (sister Mary in chipata compound) with my good results.

At sister Mary I learnt alot of which I got good results going to grade 10, but again the issue of money came in, so I had to stay a year without going to school. 😴

In 2011 to 2013 i went to Olympia secondary school and in Grade 12 I got good results but the issue of money came in again, so I had to stay home from 2014 to 2016 because I never had hope that I can even go to school (university). God made a way for me I went to the university in 2017. (Lesa mukulu) God is great🙏

My advise to everyone who has failed today is, if God gives you another chance to go back to school use it wisely some situations comes in our lives to teach us something...🙏
