Operation Rebuilding UNZA Hi Everyone,
Welcome to the Operation Rebuild UNZA (ORU) facebook group. You’re probably wondering what ORU is and what’s it all about.

Well, let us break it down for you in the simplest (and shortest) way possible. ORU is a movement (or an organization if you like) that’s here to raise awareness on the standards in which students learn and live at UNZA in order to spark change and development at the institution. It’s an official movement that has been registered by the Dean of Students (DOSA) after recommendation from the student

Union (UNZASU). It was formed by a group of UNZA students who had a passion for seeing UNZA rise to its true potential with the hope that it might one day be not only an internationally known university, but one with international standards too. It’s common knowledge that UNZA isn’t what it used to be when it was first opened in 1966. So our goal is to reach out to Zambia by getting the word out on how things are now and how they can be….correction, on how they should be! We have three target groups: The UNZA students currently on campus, the EX -UNZA students (Alumni), and the general Population of the country. We seek to change the mindsets of our fellow UNZA students to ones that will uplift and not tear down what little resources we already have, and to want more out of this institution. We want to remind the Alumni of the place they called home for 4+ years so they can give something back. We also want the general public to know more about the so called ‘highest learning institution in the country‘ so they may play a part in the building up of the institution where their children, relatives, friends and future country leaders are going to learn. ORU is not a religious organization because it wants everyone to get involved in its project: to rebuild UNZA. However, it is led by an executive made up exclusively of Christians and is built on a constitution bearing Christian principles. It is also not in opposition to UNZA management or UNZASU, to the contrary, it’s simply a movement helping the fore mentioned authorities do the job they are already doing. We’d like you to get involved. Share your views with us on anything concerning the Institution or ORU itself. Give us ideas on what you think we should do and/or how to do it. Feel free to ask questions and take part in our discussions. Be a part of Operation Rebuilding UNZA! Rebuilding starts with you and me!
